After accidentally analyzing the battle mechanics of the Pokéwalker (it's fun, coming to TCoD), I felt like doing something imitating one of the top-down party sprites which the Pokéwalker used for its battles. Could be fun to draw more of these, or color it, even.

bc i’m curious: to anyone out there who has a pokewalker and still uses it, what pokemon do you have inside it and what’s its name?

i’ll start: i have a missingno named NaN from a hacked rom of HGSS, while my partner has a cleffa named pippi ^-^

i have worn two pokewalkers on me nearly 24/7 for upwards of 2 years and after all this time i have finally unlocked quiet cave, the final pokewalker route that takes 100,000 watts, or 2 million steps (roughly, not counting watt gifts from your pokemon) to unlock. for me it was 1 million because 2 pokewalkers but i digress

i recorded unlocking it just because of how special this is

this genuinely feels like a chapter of my life ending... as a physically disabled person, i've genuinely used this pokewalker grind as a motivator to get up and move around, go places, exercise, etc. if i don't want to get out of bed it's a great motivator to remember i'm technically getting watts along the way. i have had these on me for so long that they practically have become a part of my body and sometimes i forget they are there when moving around lol. i've taken these to so many events and met so many people with them on...

but it isn't over yet! because i want to grind out every single pokewalker encounter and collect them all for fun! i don't really have any yet because i've been saving all of my watts for unlocking routes instead of catching pokemon or getting items except for one time i splurged watts for a rain dance TM lol. so a new chapter begins!!
