the amount of reviews calling pillars/avowed a bland fantasy setting is so embarrassing. they did not even give it a fair try, probably didn't read any codex entries, did not speak with npcs or even finish the main quests. eora is one of the most interesting, unique, and exciting fantasy settings to come from modern video games. if you think it's generic, then that's on you for not understanding it.
love avowed but it keeps making me miss aloth. like sigh yes there are all these unbearable, uptight and rude aedyrans, but where's MY unbearable, uptight and rude aedyran?

i wish we'd seen more of the living lands, those unexplored areas in the world map haunt me
i need a much more in depth and expansive ttrpg book for eora. inject the frivolous lore and knowledge of each nation's courtship rituals or how to make their national dishes directly into my veins.
I'm always really sad when I remember Deadfire did not sell well at all on release and didn't break even until years after. It left Obsidian in financial trouble IIRC (until their acquisition...) and left a couple of developers burnt out. No idea why it didn't sell either because IMO it's one of the best CRPG's ever made.
