With all that talk about Xbox layoffs in July and Avowed + The Outer Worlds 2 not meeting Microsoft sales expectations, I'm getting worried for my favourite studio :(
Of course, there's Grounded being a big success, but still

Saesar the Envoy
Name/ Saesar the Envoy Race/ Elf Age/ 27 Gender/ Male Sexuality/ No interest in physical relationship Hight/ 5ft Background/ Vanguard Scout Fighting style / Arquebus Love/ Cooking, Reading and Kai Hate/ Authority and Politics
Because of his appearance as a Godlike, he has been persecuted since childhood. He is cynical and often mocks others, but he is loyal to his friends and has a warm heart.
I do hope Avowed 2 takes place in Aedyr not only because of possible political intrigue and an opportunity to explore the Envoy's relationship with people back there, including the emperor, but also because of a fascinating conflict within the Woedican church.
I doubt many representatives of the clergy were happy about the Steel Garrote's rise to prominence. Religious conflicts aren't about the dogma alone. They are also rooted in political power, resources and sway over the imperial court and regular believers.
I can bet some of these priests are ready to ignore their own goddess to interpret her words and wishes as fits the emperor, while the others would be supportive of Lödwyn's action, and this is such a fertile soil for amazing storylines.
The real reason we didn't get an in-game romance for Kai. Those Aumauan teeth are something else.
mandatory Obsidian Entertainment adoration post
speaking of, I am still not able to make a nice Ravel pict. The game is so old, the art is very pixelated and Hags from BG3 are not how i imagine her; she may have literally looked like Ethel, but spiritually and symbolically they can't be more different.
CARLOTTA the AEDYRAN ENVOY in AVOWED by OBSIDIAN ENTERTAINMENT
Ok, I like Avowed so far (I enjoy some of the ambiguous choices relating to the voice, though I was a bit too cowardly when it came to one of them and had to look up a specific part of its outcome because it wasn’t made clear until you commit to one of the two options). However, my biggest gripe is that some of the place names could be more creative. Like idk Nekataka had “The Gullet” where Paradis has the generic “Shanty Town” and “Underbelly”. I also found the conflicts in Deadfire much more interesting and specific than what’s going on between the locals in the Living Lands and Aedyr in Avowed, but maybe that’s because the Deadfire setting enables better world building due to being about a culture that has been there for thousands of years vying with external imperial forces who have well established material reasons for being in the region. Maybe there was some missed potential when it comes to fleshing out the Living Lands, but idk I’m still in the first map of the game. I’m also thinking of replaying Pillars I because it really has been a minute.
