Micro Story Lairos, 17 and 21. Yes this is blatant enablement.
17. Empty and 21. Collapse—hmm well it’s not quite micro but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
————————
The Fade is empty. Lairos lands and falls to his knees, not taking time to notice much about his surroundings other than the quiet. He was just on a battlefield, had just slain a god and seen the sure shape of his friend’s lifeless body, called out his name…and now he’s surrounded by silence. Solas. That motherfucker.
Finally, Lairos breathes out and lets himself see—and it’s the fact that he can see that tells him where he is. He might be here physically, but as a mage, the Fade affects him strongly. And he wishes he was anywhere else. Solas’s stupid god-prison. And he’s on the other side of that chasm that separated them when they talked before…
Lairos needs to find the way out. He refuses to let Solas win. The Inquisitor was right: Solas can eat a bag of dicks.
————
After what seems like hours and only seconds at the same time, Lairos finally reaches the top of the steps and with desperation, throws his hand out in the hopes someone on the other side grabs hold, hopes of freedom.
“Rook! It’s him!” Taash shouts in relief, urging everyone to back away and give him space.
“Thank the Maker…” Lucanis breathes, his relief almost drowned out by everyone else’s.
Warm, rough, familiar hands grab onto Lairos’s arms and hold him steady. “Hey, I got you,” Davrin says quietly, voice thick with emotion. The sound is enough to hit Lairos square in the chest, and his knees buckle as his mind finally starts to catch up. “Whoa, hey—easy, I got you, vhenan.” Davrin is calm as ever, and it brings Lairos comfort to know he’s in safe arms as he collapses.
He’s only out for a few moments, waking to gentle tapping on his cheeks, barely enough to be called a slap. “Sorry…” Lairos shudders, curling into the safety and warmth of Davrin’s embrace.
“Don’t worry about it,” Davrin chuckles, pressing his lips gently to his temple. “Let’s get you back to the Lighthouse, huh? You can tell me all about it.”
How would ROs react to/deal with hickeys? 👀
under a read more for slight implied nsfw...
HELLO. For that character description ask meme: 1 for Silver, 10 for Emma, 13 for Eren, 16 for Lux and because I'm annoyingly attracted to Rexus, 20: What's he like when he spots someone he boutta make a move on?
HELLO!
1. Silver
Them as a child
Much different than he is now. Always somewhat on the small side (he is 5’9” as an adult), thick black shoulder-length hair he would wear in a partial ponytail. Aeolus Thrasidius, his mother’s husband and his presumed father, was compassionate but almost constant busy, while his mother, Titania Sisenna, was distant and uninterested, leaving him to entertain himself more often than not and nearly constantly bored - and quite bitter and snarky about it. He was never blatantly unkind, but not exactly the type to speak up on behalf of someone being mistreated, either. Manifested magic at about six or seven, just like he was supposed to, sent to study at the Circle of Magi in his hometown of Carastes and did just enough to be considered passable. He was always intelligent enough to have done better, but never interested enough to put in the effort. That was really sort of defining about his childhood: he was more concerned with his own satisfaction with life than anything else. He felt forced to be interested in things that he was expected to be interested in, wanted desperately to cultivate his own interests instead, but never really bothered to figure out what those are.
10. Emma
Their interactions with an enemy/rival
Depends on the kind of enemy or rival, really, and her assessment of the best way to deal with them. She’ll kill an enemy on sight and without a second thought if she hasn’t determined they’ll be useful to her in some way. If it’s someone like...say, Cassandra, or Cullen, who she is not fond of based on them being, as Templars or Templar-adjacent, complicit in the Tranquility of others, or Emery Roscrow, the Chantry-employed nemesis of her and Lux’s work pre-Inquisition to retrieve artifacts for a university professor, she is mostly avoidant. If their interaction does nothing constructive for her, she would prefer not to interact at all. She’s quiet, cold, and unwelcoming, and very, very blunt about her desire not to interact with them if pressed.
13. Eren
Them in formalwear
Terribly grouchy and uncomfortable. Eren hates things that are made for aesthetic purposes rather than utilitarian ones, and formalwear is almost invariably aesthetic. Where are the pockets? How is he supposed to have his pipe in case he needs it, which he inevitably will if he needs to be in a formal environment for longer than a certain amount of time? It offers little to no protection at all. What is the point of embellishments? Does it really need so many sashes? He realizes it is the way it is to make a particular impression on whoever sees it, but...an impression based on how he looks is not one he is interested in making.
16. Lux
Them sleepy
Lots of nodding off and snapping awake, leaning against things and realizing he shouldn’t, soft contented sighs and grumpy “I don’t wanna fall asleep though” groans. Big, loud yawns. Fluttering eyes. Fidgeting more than usual to try to stay awake and getting irritated when it doesn’t work. Slapping himself on the cheeks. Pacing around halfway to keep himself awake and halfway to find a good spot to lay down.
20. Rexus
When he sees someone he’s going to make a move on
Subtle, but quite a bit less so than he thinks. Not that this is any different than how he always is, but he oozes a sort of carefree confidence - strong “I’ll get what I want, just you wait” vibes. Throwing glances around for a believable scenario in which to appear smooth when he does make his move, looking uninterested to onlookers but using body language and changes in his expression and his voice to convey to his intended that he is, in fact, very interested.
Thanks friend!
Got any more?
So we know that Lea has a sweet tooth. But how do they take their coffee? 🤔
they drink it black..... they drink it for a Purpose and they want it as strong as possible. but if they’re just having a cup like.. going to starbucks or something. they’d probably get some obnoxious frappe
Hey there! I recently discovered this novel thanks to friends and I just love it SO MUCH. Your writing absolutely blows me out of the water and the characters are so compelling and attractive. So if you haven't answered this already: how do the ROs feel about hand kisses?
omg a friend of mine actually just sent me some of ur art, too, cus it just happened to cross their dash!!!! a beautiful coincidence......thank u for the kind words 💕 as for hand kisses...
all of them love good hand kisses...it’s about the vulnerability...
lea: these would really catch them off guard. not necessarily fluster them but it would definitely get them to blush...
merry: these would lead to other kinds of kisses with her if u know what i mean
noel: absolutely adores them. would return them with xir own but MORE because xe has to one up the mc when it comes to kisses
clementine: THEIR FAVORITE!!!!!! loves to give hand kisses and receive them. if you’ve read their branch in blackwater you probably guessed this already hehe
From the way we reacted to soldiers in the game, are they going to arrest hunters if they catch them? How “legal” is the existence of hunters and the Order in Adrania then, given this?
so technically, hunters are considered a separate entity from the “state” for lack of a better word. they can’t really.. be arrested, in the normal sense. i cant remember if this is brought up anywhere because i forget everything i write but at some point i know i wrote about lea & the hunter being “arrested” on a previous job, but it was more like they were just held in jail until someone from the order could come and be like. hey. we need to do our job. and convince the town to let them do their thing and that the threat was real and not just. a trick
typically though hunters can come and go without a problem but if they cause a scene - like in clementine’s branch - they can be confronted by guards/soldiers. typically there is a hostile relationship though not for any particular reason people just really hate the order and hunters lmao and most of the time hunters & handlers will do their best to avoid any kind of confrontation or interaction with authority figures
they feel threatened by the fact the order can kinda do whatever and also there’s this belief that all hunters are criminals and will hurt people/don’t care about collateral damage. or that they just straight up lie and fear-monger to trick people out of money
we’ll see more of this in chapter 2 if you decide to stay in blackwater....
Hullo I have a question since I’m not sure if I understood the text correctly: do hunters’ eyes look like That as a result of the Ladder, or is it just bc they continue using magic & alchemy during their career? Is it something unique to what they endured or does anyone in the setting who abuse magic & alchemy also have the same outcome?
it’s a bit of both!! i did talk about this somewhere before but i’m too lazy to search for it lol (also it’s old and probably not correct anymore mdfnkjsdf) but essentially their eyes would start to change color during the ladder, and the gold would grow more intense throughout their career as they continue to use magic & alchemy.
it has more to do with the way hunters USE the magic and alchemy, and the way they’re connected to the vel through the ladder. it’s kinda like... the hunters pull power and energy through the vel, and the vel is basically manifesting through them - while non-hunters pull their energy from the physical world only.
hope this makes sense... the vel has only been touched on a bit so far in the game but there will be more explanation as the story continues!
