Honestly, she went from doc to doc with a short sword, held at sword point and still ain’t scared, wielding a flaming stick, can sniff out baddies, will stab you in the foot with a hair stick, and will stan the Shinsengumi because that’s her fam. And they a good fam.
How would you feel if you saw your entire clan, the one clan that saved you from your own home that had been lit on fire by ronin, die right before your very eyes? Repeatedly? One by one? Not just them, but the lazy clan that robbed almost all of your clan’s rewards. The conniving clan that disguised their men as your clan’s and muddled your family’s name.
It’s modern day and these four students run into so many problems as they’re getting ready to graduate high school. Those who want to go to college are too poor. Those who was supposed to get a job got rejected. They have nowhere to go for their newly found lives as an adult so they turn to their other friend who’s mom-but-is-really-kind-of-a-godmother-idk figure is the commander-in-chief of this actually very powerful police force. None of them have college degrees to go into law enforcement, so the commander, Commander Shinsengumi, is going to be personally teaching them herself. Meet the Melee Unit Class!
Toshinzo Takasugi (aka Tanukizu) - Double Swords/Short Blade
The weird kid back in the day who lost his parents and lived in an orphanage that did not like him. Became best friends with Okita since he was the only one to accept him and was commonly found going to (or running away to) the Okita residence when he didn’t want to be in the orphanage. He swears that he saw Commander transform into a wolf and saved him one night when he was about five or six, but doesn’t tell anyone because he’s scared it was a hallucination. Him and Okita have accident called Commander ‘Mom’ so many times.
Sano Okita - All Types of Swords
The popular kid that all the ladies love. He’s the definition of a nice guy but isn’t always so innocent. Best friends and protective of Takasugi since childhood. His entire family line is to believed to be looked after by Commander’s family, since he’s the tenth Okita of the Shinsengumi, just like every line before him. He has a mother-son bond with Commander, since she basically raised him after his parents died in a freak accident on duty. Lost his eye from an accident and hates his glass eye. Cannot keep his room clean to save his life; ask Commander.
Ryona Harada - Lance/Short Blade
The no-nonsense, down-to-Earth, honest-to-a-fault, resting-frown-face member of the Melee Unit Class. Doesn’t trust people very easily and has a very tight friend group and doesn’t open up much to anyone else. However, whomever she is friends with she is heavily loyal to, so it was surprising to see how easily she warmed up to Commander. Had drank a couple of glasses of vodka unaware that it was alcohol and woke up the next day fine one time. No one knows how.
Hyana Kusaka - Short Blade/Daggers
The chill to happy-go-lucky ‘berserk healer’ of the Melee Unit Class. Wanted to go into college for a medical degree but was too poor to do so. So Kusaka was very happy to hear that Commander was trained in medicine and medical practice and is getting some first aid training from her on a more advanced level than the others. Is a great cook and likes cooking for her friends, to compliment the deserts that Toshimaro make. Close friends with Toshimaro and trying to help him with his crush. Cried into Commander’s lap when Bambi’s mother died.
Shuma Toshimaro - Standard Katana/Short Blade
The shy but determined and youngest member of the Melee Unit Class. Is really good at making deserts but burns just about anything else. Close friends with Kusaka and Takasugi. Kusaka is trying to teach him how to flirt without passing out and to cook without burning the whole base down. Has an unrelenting crush on Harada that came out of admiration. He, at first, didn’t understand Commander all that much and thought the rumors of her being a wolf were real, but little by little Commander gained his trust. Burned down the base kitchen once and that’s why it’s so brand new.
Commander Shinsengumi - Basically Everything
The mysterious, silent, but motherly and sometimes awkward commander-in-chief of the Shinsengumi Police Force, technically the head of the Shinsengumi Clan, and the Captain of the Melee Unit and the Teacher of the Melee Unit Class. Never raises her voice to her students, but her mannerisms and tactics are enough to get them in line. Practically raised Okita and technically Takasugi. Is entire past is shrouded in mystery and Okita and Takasugi wants to unravel everything.

I’m thinking of doing maybe a Slice of Life comic series or something about this. Yes, Commander Shinsengumi is the MC from EOS:COL. How is she still alive in modern day? Where is gonna lead? Who knoooows~? :0
