Meet some of our favourite pairs (and trio) you'll meet in Into The Wilderness!

We have so many relationships to showcase just from this book, and it was difficult to choose between them all. While not all of these will have major scenes in the book itself, they are developed throughout ITW, both in the foreground and background.

We wanted to give you a taste of some of our favourites ahead of time because we're so, so excited for them.

Mother & Kit: Willowpelt and Greypaw!

Greypaw has a really close relationship with his mother, and is one of the best examples of a kit/apprentice who retains that relationship throughout ITW.

Father & Kit: Stonefur and Shadepaw!

Stonefur doesn't just take on a mentor role with Shadepaw, he's also her father and ITW showcases their relationship and how it develops, with plenty more in the future.

Grandparent & Grandkit: Shimmerpelt and Mosspelt!

Grand-relationships aren't often close in the Clans, but Shimmerpelt and Mosspelt retain a close relationship, a little in lieu of Mosspelt's father not being father of the Clans, but she also looks up to Shimmerpelt a lot!

Siblings: Webkit, Runningkit, and Whitekit!

All of our protagonists have sibling relationships (whether biological or found family), but this trio is the best example we have of siblings with a strong, continuous bond despite everything they go through.

Friendship: Dustpaw & Sandpaw!

There are many friendships to showcase in ITW, but Dustpaw and Sandpaw was our first choice for this category. Throughout their lives they'll go through many changes, but they'll always be great friends.

Mentor & Apprentice: Boulder & Littlepaw!

The choice to change Littlepaw's mentor really pays off as we explore his training with Boulder and how that affects his journey in ShadowClan. There's no better cat to mentor him.

MLM Ship: Darkstripe & Longtail!

Not every relationship is healthy, and we feel it's important to show those as well. Longtail has a long path ahead of him, and his relationship with Darkstripe will open up his eyes to much more than he expects.

WLM Ship: Frostfur & Lionheart!

The strength of their relationship isn't just found in their hearts. These two really show what happens when two great cats work together.

WLW Ship: Sorrelfeather & Soot!

Conventional relationships have no place here. If you want pining, they have it. This was our hardest pick but Sorrelfeather and Soot's love for one another mirrors another WindClan pairing in loving one you cannot stay with.

We hope to make a grid for every book of the arc, so not every grid will be dominated by ThunderClan! Ultimately they have the most grid-friendly relationships during ITW, but other books will lean heavily elsewhere.

Feel free to ask us anything about these pairings and relationships - some may get one-shots or highlights, but others may not!
