🎊🎉 FINISHED! 🎉🎊 Almost 18 months since Hallowe'en 2024, and I've watched all of the original Dark Shadows!
Holy shit, what a fucking ending. Wasn't expecting to end on a joke—incredible. Giving one of the writers a cameo role in the final scene was very cute. And I guess Quentin just didn't get home in time for the end of the show.
What to do now! I've got to answer an ask someone was nice enough to send me. Eventually I'll write up my thoughts for the last 44 episodes. Beyond that, I've got to put together a presentation about the show to deliver at my friends' next powerpoint party. I'd so love to talk through all the plots in the show, but I couldn't do it justice in a 15 minute talk.
I've also got a lot more Dark Shadows to watch when I'm in the mood! There's the '70s movies, the 1991 remake, the 2004 pilot, and the 2012 movie if I'm feeling particularly desperate. I'd also be interested in checking out the comics that kept going after the show ended. And, of course, the Big Finish audios that were the reason I started watching the show at all.
But first thing's first, I'm going to rewatch the first episode of the show. A lot's changed since then.
