What I loved about the fallout scene after Changyu learn about Zheng’s identity is that not only she’s furious with him, but she feels safe enough to lash out. They are of vastly different status and his word is basically law in the military camp, technically she is at his mercy. But she knows he wouldn’t do anything to harm her so she can let her anger show, she doesn’t cower at all. She doesn’t change her actions just because of his status.

Okay, but Zhan Zhao snapping back into his killer Yaksha mode is so beautiful in a way, and very very tragic. He's doing his best to be the embodiment of justice while abiding by the law - but that law does nothing but uncover corruption, and the killers get away, while the victims remain unavenged.

With his type of character and a strong sense of justice - that must be very painful to see (also makes me wonder about his backstory, how did he end up like this?). When a man like that snaps - that's akin to an end of the world :D And all those corrupt official should be afraid for their lives. I also want to know more about him being a Yaksha, that must have been a 'fun' period in his life XD

The show's feeding us some very good character development stuff. Love it. And also, how pretty much unfazed Zhan Zhao's besties remain about his supposed going on a killing spree XD Like, yeah, he's doing that, but we're trying to save his life here XD I love their vibe so much.
