this looks like a cute idea but the plot seems a bit long and confusing. i'm also unsure about joining because the current connections page makes it seem like everyone's connected and it'll be small and cliquey :/
Hiya! We agree, our plot is pretty long and complicated. We’ve been working on shortening it, which we have done for some promos, but until then, the current plot is essentially just a lot of unnecessary backstory as to how the characters got to Elias Pointe.
The tl;dr version: the good guys wanted to start over fresh, but the bad guys wanted revenge. Conflicting spells happened, they all ended up on an island off the coast of modern day Florida, and neither side got what they wanted. Some of the villains tried to find a way home, but instead brought magic into their new world and now their descendants are discovering powers of their own. That’s where you come in :)
We understand your concerns about it feeling cliquey, but that is something we strive hard to prevent. We’ve been open for a couple months now, and for a long time, we didn’t have many members so a lot of our characters over time developed mutual connections, or we took on additional characters (i.e. siblings, friends, etc.) that would already have connections when they came in.
New members, however, are always welcomed with open arms (we literally have a party in the chat every time we get an app from someone actually new hahaha) and we all love setting up new stories or plot lines! The current connections page was only established to help new members jump right into things or decide if there’s anyone they’d like to connect with, so please don’t let it deter you from having a great time!
