Roman had been the one wanting to share their relationship with the others. Deceit had been on the fence about telling anyone but Remus, but he had understood that it would be unfair to expect Roman and Logan to hide their relationship from Patton and Virgil. He just hadn't expected Thomas to be included.

Deceit was very much against sharing their relationship with Thomas. He tried to argue that it was better for Thomas to not know, that the knowledge of their relationship could be the catalyst that made Thomas rethink the whole "sides of his personality" thing he had convinced himself of when Patton and Logan first showed up as Morality and Logic.

Logan made a whole PowerPoint presentation to reassure Deceit that it would be in Thomas' best interest for them to be open about their relationship. Roman's puppy eyes may have also played a part in convincing him.

They decide to stay back after a video to tell Thomas. Deceit hides his hands behind his back so that he can nervously play with his fingers. Logan were supposed to explain it, but the moment they're alone with Thomas, the words spill out Roman's mouth. He's wiggling in excitement as he tells Thomas about their relationship. Logan smiles fondly, but Deceit is frozen with fear. Thomas only knows what he sees of them, and Deceit had very much played a villain in the videos he had been a part of.

Thomas looks a bit lost, but he repeats what Roman has told him, looking to Logan for clarification. Logan gives verbal affirmation of what Roman has said. Deceit only nods, because a lie would definitely come out if he tried to say anything.

He hadn't expected Thomas to thank them for telling him, or saying he was happy for them, or offering a hug. Logan politely refuses the hug, but Roman takes Deceit by the arm and pulls him into a grouphug with Thomas. Deceit feels his body relax; he had been worried for nothing. He smiles at Logan as he melts into the hug. Logan smiles back.

BSJKSNSJ how often does logan willingly engage in physical affections with dee? hugs, cuddling, etc—how does that usually happen?

Dee is very stubborn, and must always sit so that he can see the book when Logan reads to him. The easiest solution for that is for Dee to sit on Logan's lap. Logan tried to have Dee next to him at first, but Dee would just crawl up on his lap anyway to see better.

Logan gets so used to it that he'll have Dee sitting on his lap when they do other things too, like watching a documentary or putting together a puzzle.

Except that, there are also bedtime hugs. Dee refuses to go to bed before he has hugged everyone goodnight. Well, almost everyone...

i Need more about how toddler dee interacts with logan. does logan just always know what to do and is always calm? does he have moments where he freaks out or starts internally screaming because This Is A Literal Child Am I Even Qualified For This? is he just tryin his best? does dee prefer to go to logan for any specific things?

Logan will look calm on the outside but internally he's freaking out because he has no idea how to act with a child. It would have been so much easier if Patton could take care of Dee, but Logan isn't going to force that so he does the second best thing: Researches child care and child development.

In the end, he finds it easiest to treat Dee like a tiny adult who is discovering everything for the first time. It helps that Dee loves getting read to.

Logan focuses most on Dee's language and learning skills - he has vocab cards with complicated words he want to teach Dee just because it would be funny - but he will give the others advice based on what he has read. So he becomes the go-to person when someone can't figure out what Dee wants/needs.

It makes him happy to be needed, and a very small part of him is enjoying that the others go to him instead of Patton. He likes being listened to, especially when he has the research to back him up.

Dee goes to Logan with all questions because Logan never tries to sugarcoat something or give a vague answer about him being too young or it being too dangerous. Instead, Logan will explain it as well as he can, and show Dee books on the subject if possible.

Objectively speaking, Logan has a very good life. He has a stable job with a steady income, a decently sized apartment with reasonable rent, and a small group of close friends that he meets up with at least once a month. Objectively speaking, he isn't lacking anything from Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

If anyone were to ask - and they won't; he has kept this project a secret - he would justify it as a scientific inquiry. If he cared for fame, it could arguably revolutionize the medical industry - but that was assuming society didn't question the ethics of it too much.

The truth is ugly, and he feels ashamed to admit it; all his hard work has been to create someone capable of loving him. Oh, his friends will reassure him that he will find a romantic partner one day, but the math disagrees with them. Logan has done multiple calculations on the matter, and the conclusion has always been the same.

He takes a sip from one of various coffee mugs placed around the room. It wasn't easy to turn his home office into an acceptable medical lab, but it was worth it. It will be worth it. He has everything ready to go. Logan walks around the room, triple-checking his equipment and taking more sips of the cold coffee. He has long since lost track of which mugs are still warm, but the temperature isn't as important as the caffeine.

Logan looks over his calculations one last time and puts his mug down on the closest surface. It's far too late to back out; the only thing left to do is turn on the electricity to start the process.

It takes over an hour and causes a blackout in his building but finally, the body on his worktop moves. He has successfully reanimated a dead body. An aesthetically pleasing dead body. Logan spent lot of time and care to make sure there wouldn't be any imperfections in the set of the jaw or proportions of the limbs. The man is a patchwork of different shades of skin, with mismatched eyes, but his teeth are perfectly straight and his body is the ideal form.

If Logan thought higher of himself, he would name his creation for Adam. Instead, he settles on a more descriptive name - Deceit. Or Declan, around company.

Deceit sits up on the worktop and slowly takes in his surroundings. When his mismatched eyes lands on Logan, his perfect lips mirrors the smile on Logan's face.

Hope it's okay that Virgil and Roman are just friends.

They all got to know each other because they joined the local production of Les Misérables. Roman got cast as Marius, Dee got cast as Enjolras, Virgil did tech, and Logan was the stage manager.

Dee teased Roman a lot for playing Marius, because Dee has read the book and Marius at one point stands with his head pressed against a tree for two hours because he didn't have money to go with Cosette to England. Okay so a lot of the teasing is based on who Roman is cast as, and not Roman himself.

Roman skims through the book for all parts with Enjolras wanting to tease Dee in return but uh. "Enjolras was a charming young man, who was capable of being terrible. He was angelically handsome. He was a savage Antinous."

Roman definitely attempts to tease Dee for playing Enjolras but he keeps flirting instead.

Logan has to take them aside after one rehearsal because a) Marius is supposed to be in love with Cosette, and b) if Enjolras had chemistry with anyone then it was Grantaire, so c) please stop turning the musical into bad fanfiction.

Dee immediately jumps on the chance of in-depth discussions of the source material with Logan. They get coffee after rehearsals a lot.

Virgil doesn't leave the techbooth a lot but then during one rehearsal he has to stand in as both Cosette and Grantaire because their actors are sick. Shouldn't they have understudies? Can no one else step in? No?

Virgil is an absolutely awful Cosette. He and Roman doesn't work together at all, and Cosette is a soprano role. Virgil is not a soprano.

Virgil does make a pretty good Grantaire though. He definitely has the attitude, and his voice fits the role much better. Plus, he and Dee actually play well off each other.

So what ends up happening is that Dee and Roman built their friendship on teasing and flirting, Dee and Logan bonded over the source material, and Dee and Virgil take friendly barbs at each other. Roman feels a bit forgotten because he was Dee's friend first. He doesn't have time to actually read the book but he watches some of the different movie adaptations + the anime adaptation, so he can at least join Dee and Logan in one discussion. And after Roman starts getting coffee with them, they start talking about more and actually get to know each other outside their thoughts on Les Mis.

Logan and Virgil are on friendly terms already, being the stage manager and one of the tech people. So once Roman becomes part of the after rehearsal coffee group, Logan invites Virgil. Dee is happy that Virgil is there, Roman less so.

Anyway so after-rehearsal-coffee turns into after-performance-drinks and then they start meeting up just because. Roman has always been very physically affectionate, and Dee is physically affectionate too if less than Roman, but he's also the one to bring them things that made him think of them (like a book for Logan, recommending a band to Virgil, sending Roman a picture of a jacket). Logan and Virgil are rarely affectionate in public, but they'll make time and like just being in the same room as the others.

Logan ends up asking for clarification on their relationship after a while. Dee confesses to being interested in all of them, Logan says he feels the same. Roman and Virgil take a long look at each other and mutually agrees that they might be friends, but they wouldn't work as anything more. Both of them like Dee and Logan tho, and they're okay with sharing boyfriends.

Virgil ends up kissing Dee and Logan before Roman does it, because Roman was overthinking how romantic their first kisses should be. They playfight about it until Logan and Dee shut them up with kisses.
