in case anyone has ever wondered, there is a following limit of 5000 blogs. i only know this because i usually follow back but no longer could once i hit it. so i’ve had to be more selective about who to follow. i did go through and cull a bunch of inactive blogs but i’m too much of a packrat to let go of a substantial enough number of them. i’ll try to give it another go and then i’ll follow back a bunch more.  i’m sitting at below 5k only cuz some blogs must have deactivated or been nuked.

there’s a cool feature in the ios app that doesn’t normally show up on the android app but i just discovered that you can insert a ‘keep reading’ trigger to unlock it in a post. after the jump you get a 3x3 grid of related posts. when i was using an iphone a lot it was pretty fun to rabbit hole through posts that way, especially when the dash is a bit stale. as a counterpoint, android has a feature that ios doesn’t have. it’s basically a throwback machine where when you jump from a post to the dash of the blog that it was reblogged from (so long as you tap on the name of the blog and not the avatar), you end up at the point in their dash that that post was posted. an added bonus is this works with pixelated blogs too so you can chase down that post you wanted to reblog from them without having to scroll through their dash from the top.

My birthday is today. I spent the morning in a cream silk La Perla dressing gown and eating angel cake with chocolate covered strawberries and a pink-clad contortionist decoration on top. Sipped green tea and jasmine. Watched the film Coco Avant Chanel last night, and today I've dusted off her 2009 Russian Caviar pre-Fall purse to carry again. Snacked on cherries. Enjoying the beach; must be near the sea, always. Packed my little cameo music box, my silver hand mirror, my diamanté diadem, in a lavender weekender with brass fittings. Writing secrets in a locking book, need a new one soon. Will dine on crepes. Gazing at a string of wishes and wondering what I should spoil myself with; not expecting much from people with holes in their hearts and pockets. Reading Jane Austen, like reading comforting letters from a close friend. Black satin ribbon somehow still caught in my hair from the night before, like a haunting dream; soon may turn to gold. Yes, let it be gold...
