I'm not disagreeing with the whitewashing at all, but I thought Annie and Finnick were pretty much described as white in the book? (Unless your point is that they easily could have been played by actors of color in the film without being unfaithful to the book.)

Finnick’s skin was described initially as “golden”.

Annie and Johanna’s skin tone had no canonical description, but defaulting to white when the original race of the character was ambiguous is still whitewashing and tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if they only saw Caucasian actors for those parts in auditions. Jesse Williams was allowed to audition for Finnick after a lot of fan campaigning, but was knocked out of the running almost immediately by like 5 white dudes.

ETA: Same with Naya Rivera for Johanna iirc?

Does anyone want to go anywhere for fall break?

My parents have a time share and need to use up points before January and figured I could use them to go somewhere for fall break.

It needs to be within driving distance of Fredericksburg, but other than that it's pretty open. I was thinking maybe Williamsburg or DC or the Smoky Mountains.

Anyone wanna come? (you don't have to pay for anything unless you want to)
