do you ever think that clancy sees the bandito kids playing and finds that he was never afforded that luxury in his youth, often made to copy vialist scripture line by line while his mind drifted to what may lay beyond the walls.

do you ever think that clancy sees the bandito kids impersonating him and the torchbearer during playtime, realising the innocence of these children who know not of the pain of war, of what they had both gone through to get to where they are now.

do you ever think that clancy sees the bandito kids playing, the assigned torchbearer of the group pretending to be an illusion, a projection, and suddenly clancy is back in that forest clearing on the shoreline, feeling his safety blanket of the last six years be ripped away when he finds out torchbearer had never truly been by his side through the torture and propaganda he was forced to perform.
