Don Berna

Don Berna, a.k.a. Diego Murillo Bejarano, was a former trusted associate of Pablo Escobar. He was the bodyguard for the Galeano family. After Pablo killed Fernando Galeano, Don Berna also turned a corner and decided to form a union between the Cali Cartel and rival paramilitaries Fidel and Carlos Castaña. Along with widows like Judy Moncada, he offered intel and financing to join the manhunt for Pablo.

Judy Moncada

Judy Moncada is… how shall we put it... a boss bitch. And we mean that as a compliment. When Escobar executed her husband, Kiko Moncada, in La Catedral, she was motivated to retaliate. Murphy noted that two families were recruiting detractors to fight Escobar. They offered money and were actively hunting him down. However, Judy's on-screen character is a mix of different women turned into widows by Pablo who continued to hunt him down along with other associates. Kiko Moncada's real-life widow was Dolly Moncada; a woman also driven by revenge but who eventually helped the DEA. She was flown to Washington, D.C., and was debriefed by the DEA where she provided valuable intel about the inner workings of Escobar's operation. She even helped to get Escobar's former associate, Carlos Lehder, to cooperate in exchange for a reduced sentence.

Cracks In The Cartel

Criminals thrive on loyalty, but at the end of the day, they're still criminals. They don't abide by the rules. So when Pablo began breaking his own rules like say, by killing two of his best friends and threatening their families; well, the families decided loyalty was not really their thing anymore. Many of the gangs in the Medellín Cartel broke off and turned against Pablo after his escape. Some just wanted to avoid the heat coming from all the attention Pablo was bringing, but others wanted revenge, and none wanted it more than Mrs. Moncada and Don Berna.
