Picture from the airport before departing for Germany! I have never left the country before, but I am excited to learn more about Europe and what life is like on a different continent. I don’t really know what to expect, but right now what I’m most worried about is how long the flight is. It’s going to be a jam packed week, and I know the time is just going to fly by, so I’m going to make sure to take tons of pictures!

Besides the stereotypical things you learn about other countries, like what kind of outlets they use or how much they tip their waitstaff, I’m looking forward to learning about some of the sustainability initiatives that exist in Germany. Part of my future career goals is working with international environmental politics, so gaining insight and perspective into other society’s views on climate change and other related issues will help me understand how new policies will be received. I also want to look for local outlook, like recycling programs or general attitudes towards sustainable living.
