Regressuary day 21:Fight
Hermes rushed over to Aeolus's island, trying his hardest to not think about his sister in a pool of her own ichor on the arena floor after their father's game, all he needed to focus on right now was setting his great grandson free and he needed Aeolus's help for that. Soon enough Hermes reached Aeolia, Aeolus's lovely cloud kingdom and he landed on the island quietly, his wings on his heels fluttered with all of his pent up emotions. "Aeolus! Darling! I'm in need of some assistance with something!" Hermes called out to his friend and more and soon enough Aeolus made their appearance along with some of the little Winions. "Hermes! What a pleasure to see you! What can I do for you my love?" Aeolus asked as they sat on a cloud and floated closer to Hermes. Hermes took a deep breath, a bit worried about what his lover would say considering what happened last time. "I need another wind bag for Ody--" Hermes was then coldly cut off. "No he wasn't compliant, he opened the bag" Aeolus said coldly and Hermes fluttered up to them on their cloud. "He didn't open the bag! His crew did when he was asleep! He told them not to open it and they disobeyed him!" Hermes resorted back and continued "Look Darling, i really need the bag for Odysseus! He needs my help"
Aeolus turned away from Hermes well some of the Winions looks on worried, it was rare when their parents fought but it was always devastating. "Hermes i said no you can help that little greek without the help of my windbag, catching another one of Poseidon's storms is dangerous enough as is and I don't want to go through all that when the little greek won't listen" Aeolus said harshly. Hermes let out a shuttered breath and grasped Aeolus's arm as they turned away from him, his emotions bubbling up inside of him, the worry about Athena and setting his great grandson free. "Aeolus please I-I can't help him without it! Uncle Poseidon's storm is blocking his way home! He's been away far too long..." Hermes pleaded and rested his forehead against his lovers back. "Hermes! I said NO!!! Why are you so insistent on helping that little greek who can't even play a game right?!" Aeolus snapped and pulled away from the trickster god.
Hermes felt hot salty tears run down his face as he crashed into his child-like headspace and he tried to muffle his whine as he started to cry, Aeolus was already mad at him! He didn't want to upset bubby more! But Aeolus heard the little whine anyways and quickly turned around at the sound of their little ones cries, anger immediately forgotten at seeing Hermes so upset. "Oh baby...there's no need to cry!" Aeolus cooed softly and tried to reach out to Hermes but he flew away from them. "Nuh-uh! You're being mean! won't help my baby!" Hermes sobbed, scrubbing at his face in an attempt to wipe away his tears. "You're baby...?" Aeolus asked as it dawned on them, they knew of Autolycus, Hermes’s son and Anticlea Hermes’s granddaughter but both have since passed into the Underworld now. "Is Odysseus you're great grandson?" Aeolus asked once more and Hermes nodded still wiping his tears. "He's my baby! 'nd I need to help him get home! He's stuck! Can't let 'Thena's injuries be for nothin'!" Hermes cried out which left Aeolus greatly confused, what had the goddess of wisdom have anything to do with this? Aeolus shook their head to rid the thought, it didn't matter, what mattered was Hermes was upset about his family and Aeolus knew how much he cared for his descendants. Remembering the day his granddaughter died, he had crashed onto their island and spent weeks crying well Iris had to pick up his job as main messager as he was unable to work with how upset he was.
Aeolus sighed, they guess they could trap Poseidon's storm...they loved Hermes very much and hated seeing them upset over his family. "Alright fine, I'll get Poseidon's storm and allow you to give Odysseus the windbag" Aeolus said finally and Hermes look up in surprise. "Really...?" Hermes asked tearfully and Aeolus took that chance to scoop Hermes up into their arms "yeah really" Aeolus said softly before continuing sternly "however he can't open the bag or else he won't be able to get home" Hermes nodded seriously before trying to squirm his way out of Aeolus's hold. "Nuh-uh Little One, i can't let you go just yet! You're too little to help Odysseus right now" Aeolus chided and Hermes whined as he continued struggling. "But I need to help my baby! He's been stuck too long! Needs help!" Hermes sobbed and Aeolus shushed him gently and kissed his forehead. "You can help him after you have a nap Little One, you'll be no help to him if you're small!" Aeolus soothed as they flew on their cloud to their cloud palace.
Aeolus flew through the palace to the special room made for Hermes when he felt like this, rocking Hermes gently as they went, hoping to get him to settle down for a nap. Hermes continued to struggle weakly, he couldn't spend more time away from trying to free Odysseus! He'd been trapped with Calypso long enough! But Hermes was finding it harder and harder to fight as his crying slowly quieted and he felt exhaustion creep up on him and he yawned tiredly. Soon enough Aeolus made it to Hermes’s room and floated over to the bed and gently placed Hermes on the bed and some of the Winions joined him on it, Hermes let out a whine as he was placed on the bed reaching out to Aeolus as he was put down. "Alright fine" Aeolus sighed fondly before continuing "I'll join naptime, just for a bit though, I still need to get Poseidon's storm after all" Aeolus said as they climbed into the bed next to Hermes, who immediately cuddled up to the wind god and fell asleep knowing that when he woke up he'd be able to save his great grandson.
