Introducing Our Interns
The summer is a chance for students to take what they’ve learned in the classroom and apply it into a real-world experience. Epic Web Studios has opened its doors to three new interns this summer to help provide an opportunity for them to expand their knowledge and gain experience in their lively office.
Epic’s social media intern this summer is Bri Nellis, a native of Clarion, PA. She will be a senior this fall at Clarion University and is majoring in Communications, as well as minoring in Marketing and Web Development. Last semester, she skipped the Pennsylvania winter and headed south for the Disney College Program, where she worked on the front lines of Disney World and commonly said the phrase “have a magical day” too many times a day to count.
Bri previously maintained and created content on the social media platforms for Clarion Center for the Arts, a performing arts company in her hometown. She hopes that her previous experience will help her succeed in her internship with Epic Web Studios. However, she’s excited to learn everything that she can from the social media team here at Epic.
Through this experience at Epic Web Studios, Bri hopes to gain a better understanding of search engine optimization, website development, and be able to effectively create and execute social media strategic plans for clients. She is looking forward to working in the fun and creative atmosphere that encompasses Epic Web Studios.
Whenever Bri isn’t updating statuses or learning HTML code, she is either taking pictures, eating Pizza Pub’s bacon ranch pizza, binge watching TV shows on Netflix, or planning her next adventure abroad.
Lindsay Orzechowski is an Erie native who is also interning at Epic Web Studios and is focusing her internship on graphic design and web development. Lindsay will be a junior this fall at Waynesburg University and is majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Digital Design, as well as a minor in Marketing.
Lindsay learned some of her tricks and skills throughout her classes and by participating in many clubs and organizations. AIGA Student Group, a club that organizes student mixers and meetings where they learn and discusses design, is where she gained valuable experience. A couple classes that have prepared her for Epic’s internship are Web Design, where she learned the basic HTML and CSS coding to design a website for a client, and Principles of Design, where she learned the ins and outs of the Adobe Creative Suite.
Throughout the Epic Web Studios internship, Lindsay hopes to develop better design skills, create great portfolio pieces, and have a better understanding of what it’s like to be a working designer and web developer. With the help of the creative and web development teams Lindsay’s goals are being accomplished.
In Lindsay’s free time, when she isn’t working on design projects, she enjoys hanging out with her close family and friends, running outside, pinning her interests on Pinterest, working at Dunkin’ Donuts, and planning events for the upcoming school year.
Thomas Roseman a native of Mercer, PA is the website development intern this summer at Epic Web Studios. This fall, he will be a senior at Penn State Behrend and is majoring in Software Engineering. While in college, Thomas works as a student consultant where he maintains student labs and provides technical support for students and staff. On the side, he works for Geek Squad, solving all your computer problems and can be seen driving the classic Geek Squad Volkswagen Bug.
He has gained a plethora of experience through many class projects and late nights with friends developing mobile or website ideas.
While at Epic, Thomas hopes to gain a better understanding of design fundamentals and hone his development skills in a professional setting. He is in good hands with the website development team here at Epic, with years of experience under their belt, he is sure to learn a lot from their valuable knowledge and experience.
In his down time, whenever Thomas isn’t developing websites, he enjoys to cycle and run, as well as play card and board games, especially, Magic: The Gathering.
