i am 100% sure that jake is the one who made the date for steven, since we’ve seen that marc takes steven’s lifestyle in consideration, and if he can take the time to put steven’s security measures back in place and try to replace steven’s dead fish, then he’d certainly remember making a date for steven and not missing it, and he definitely wouldn’t have it at a steakhouse, since he knows steven’s a vegan. 

this leads to only one possibility: jake is in there and he’s ready to come out...

the power this scene holds over me

like yes, my man looks absolutely scrumptious here and that’s one reason i love this scene

but also? this is my routine every night. i have to distract my brain away from intrusive thoughts and the way this scene was presented was everything to me: - steven trying to solve the puzzle before tossing it up in the air like a ball - reading to occupy his mind - listening to a video that’ll “help” - the audio restarting over and over until it just becomes a overlap of sound that you can’t really make out anymore

this is how i deal with my mental illness(es) and the portrayal in this scene of how mental illness can affect simple aspects of our lives like sleep is important to me, especially since people think i’m being ‘quirky’ when i talk about my insomnia, despite it being a side effect of my mental illness. neuro-typical people take simple things that neuro-divergent people struggle with for granted, and i think this scene is a really good portrayal of that.

love that steven’s idea of fighting is to simply smush a cupcake in his opponent’s face and throw a gun at the car actively driving into him. he’s trying his best in the midst of a crisis and i love him for that.

the most realistic part of moon knight is steven simply standing there waiting to get shot until khonshu tells him to run. if someone pointed a gun at me and i had absolutely no idea why, i too would be perplexed

my favorite thing about the scene where for the first time we see arthur and steven speak to each other, steven is just offering up unnecessary information. me too king! i do that too when i’m anxious! anxiety gang rise up

y’know what would be deadass funny? if steven was actually just talking to a real statue and not a performer who masquerades as a statue. just unintentionally gaslighting people into thinking that it’s not a real statue but a performer? peak comedy

i don’t know if it’s just me and i’m overthinking this, but did anyone else see the parallels here when they watched this scene? steven’s stance subconsciously represents the scale, and he is holding the bloody scarab (which almost resembles a heart here) in his hand. his scales have already been weighed, which could be one of the many factors into why the scales were confused at the museum (besides the whole ‘steven is marc’s shield against ammet’ which i love). well, catch me thinking about this until episode two drops, laters gators!
