The Galileo Seven is next, marking first appearance of a shuttlecraft! Brief Summary: Spock is forced to make difficult command decisions when his shuttle crashes onto a planet inhabited by savage beings. Thoughts: So the Enterprise is delivering medical supplies to Makus III with Galactic High Commissioner Ferris onboard to oversee. Ugh it’s like having someone from “corporate” visit lol Meanwhile, Spock along with a small crew (including Bones and Scotty), is in command of a shuttlecraft heading out to explore a nearby quasar. Shit goes bad and they begin to crash, losing contact with the Enterprise. The ship has two days to find the missing shuttle before they HAVE to leave for Makus III. Spock tells Bones they’re gonna be on this planet for a very long time, as the Enterprise’s scanners aren’t functioning and they’d have to find them using visual only. Ferris is up Kirk’s ass, constantly reminding him they have to leave, but Kirk holds his ground. He’s gonna search until the last possible second. 😍 Anyway, back on the planet, Scotty tells Spock they need to lose 500lbs in order to break orbit so Spock logically assumes 3 crewman will stay behind. As he is in command, he will pick who stays and who goes. Oh boy, the crew doesn’t like this plan. 😂 Earlier, Spock sent two of the officers, armed, to start searching the immediate area. Well, one of them is killed by a huge ape like creature that threw a spear at him. The Corbomite Maneuver!! 🤩 Brief Summary: The Enterprise encounters a strange cube shaped object in unknown space, which ultimately leads to meeting the legendary Balok. Thoughts: Spock is in charge, love to see it 😍 Everything’s going fine (mapping and charting) until they run into this cube shaped object that won’t leave them alone. Meanwhile, Kirk is in sickbay with Bones doing his quarterly physical. I love the wall leg exercise machine haha and of course a sweaty Kirk 💦 Back on the bridge Spock and lieutenant Bailey snark at each other and Spock totally wins 😏 Later, Kirk, now on the bridge, orders them to warp speed and then to fire phasers at the cube. Bailey friggin hesitates Kirk’s order and I’m not exactly sure what his problem is? Regardless, the cube is destroyed. Okay, so McCoy is worried Bailey was promoted too fast but Kirk is like nah he’s fine lol They go to Kirk’s quarters for a drink and ugh I love the liquor glasses they’re using! McCoy changed Kirk’s diet card so yeoman Rand brings him a salad. “Green leaves!?” 😂 Anyway, now the ship is being approached by a much larger spherical object, drawing Kirk back to the bridge. This next episode is The Man Trap, the first episode to air with Captain Kirk in the chair! ✨ Brief Summary: The Enterprise visits the planet M-113 where Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy encounter archeologist Robert Crater and his wife Nancy. Crew members begin to die, the cause: no salt in their bodies. Thoughts: So Nancy is Bones’ ex-flame and her nickname for him is “Plum” haha Anyway, we have the first appearance of the medical tricorder! Also, the first “Dead, Jim.” 😂 Moving on, we have the beautiful Uhura flirting her hardest with the very logical Spock lol And another first: Spock saying “Fascinating.” So the salt creature is beamed aboard (because it can shapeshifte and disguise itself) and creeps on poor yeoman Rand. Next we have Sulu! His quarters are filled with these brilliant colored plants 🌺 So fun fact, the death toll is up to four crewman and none of them were wearing red shirts lol We get the first red alert! 🚨 Eventually, it is revealed that the real Nancy has been dead for years and the salt creature is the last of its kind. Wait hold up, Bones has truth serum? Lmao Anyway, Spock is injured 😭 and we see his green blood, but it’s all good because they give him a sparkly bandage 💎 Holy shit! Spocks reaction to the salt creature almost killing Kirk is amazing! 🤣 The creature‘s true form is revealed and it’s honestly kind of cute lol Unfortunately, Bones has to kill it…the last Buffalo.
