Tokyo, Japan -- One of my absolute favorite Japanese singers is Chara because of her distinct voice. I’ll admit that I have to actively follow new music coming out of Asia but I’m never disappointed when I do check-in. I recently saw that Chara put out a new song with Hikaru Arata back in December titled “愛する時 (Aisurutoki)”. The song is just under 4.5 minutes long and it will probably be one of the lightest and airiest songs you will ever hear. There’s an effervescence to the instrumentation that is accentuated with the lithe bounce in the Japanese language. “愛する時 (Aisurutoki)” has a preciousness to it that feels so pure and sincere but there’s also a wonderful soft groove to it that keeps me coming back.
