ugh I know, it's a religion... when is the right time to neuter them, what to feed them, what to vaccinate against, etc. For the record, I believe that bentonite/clumping litter isn't unsafe for regular adult cats, but it might be a risk for little kittens that try to taste everything or for cats that generally might have wet paws from outside for example and get the clumping litter stuck to their paws and try to lick it off etc. I'm personally not a fan but we tend to use it at the shelter and it's alright.

i k r there’s so much advice it’s hard to discern which to follow. basing it on age does seem sensible tho. good thing i got congress already as an adult so i skipped over all that developmental nonsense

Some pet sites are NUTS. Just find something that your cat will USE most importantly and that you can keep reasonably clean. Clumping litter can be dangerous for kittens who might try to eat it, or cats with pica but for most they don't have problems with it.

bentonite clumping litter may be dusty but it’s suuuuper convenient for me esp during cleanup, im glad it’s not as dangerous as that one tumblr post made it out to be

in berlin this summer maz and i were cooking dinner and she said 'put on some fun music' and we didn't have wifi so it was just my itunes, and i was like 'uhhhhh okay hang on' and after like fifteen minutes of scrolling i made a playlist called 'fun music' and to this date it only has twelve songs in it

MAZ IS THE BEST PERSON

I'm struggling to put this to words because maz just means so fucking much to me.  she is honestly one of the most sympathetic, kind, passionate, loving, and beautiful people I've ever met.  and I am so grateful to know someone who is as deeply unhip as I am.  like.  every night we were in paris, we were in bed by 9 pm.  (I'm sorry, I think I was supposed to carry this secret to the grave with me but I really couldn't bear the weight of it.)  anyway, the moral of the story is that we're both losers but we're made for each other and I love her very much.
