#coloursofthegems #miniquilt done ✅ It's wonky and I made lots of mistakes, but hopefully I've learnt from them 😉. This is the first thing I've made using #eppiflex templates. They have taken some getting used to, they are really different to work with from the paper ones I usually use. But I do like them! You can iron the shit out of them and they don't melt, and they seem to give a sharp finish to the edges. You can not sew through them, and I have tried. They suit MY personal style of sewing them together, which is neither flat back nor whip stitch🙄? totally getting distracted by #fussycutting this week !!! #rosestar block using #eppiflex templates. I am loving this block! This is block number 2, I am focusing on the STAR element. I have no plan, but hey that's not unusual 😂 . What will be will be! So, I am loving these #eppiflex templates from the Australian shop @thequiltingpatch . They really suit my way of working which I think could be described as rough? I am not a genteel sewer. I pull my thread hard, I bend most needles, I press fabric real hot. Sometimes when I've used paper templates I've sewn through them (who am I kidding I do that ALL the time😜) folded them, got them wet put to much starch on them etc , but these little plastic guys take it in their stride, bouncing back for more punishment! And I think they give a better clearer edge to the shape 🤔. Question, is there any reason why I shouldn't use #fpp and #epp in the same quilt? I'm gonna try and assemble the #rosestarblocks with a joining #foundationpaperpiecing triangle. If anyone has done this and found any pitfalls please let me know!
