About Sports and Quidditch

This past Sunday was amazing. Since I was little I've tried several sports, both individual and team, such as soccer, futsal, tennis, swimming or gym. The one I have practiced for the most time is swimming.

However, one year ago I started practicing the most interesting sport of them all, QUIDDITCH. And last Sunday the team for which I play, the Barcelona Eagles Quidditch Team, won the Catalan Quidditch Cup against two other catalan teams. What I love the most about this sport is that it is so different from the most popular ones (football, soccer, basketball....). For people watching it for the first time, it is really chaotic. And the faces of people hearing from it the first time is also amazing. And normally, their first reaction is: "But..... do you fly?". It is difficult to explain the game, but once you got the basis, it turns to the perfect sport to practice. And it is one of the only sports where you will find boys and girls playing together. 

And the next tournment, and most important for me, will be the European Quidditch Cup (EQC) in Oxford, where the 32 best teams will meet. And I say the best 32 because Quidditch is not a thing of 4 freaks playing for fun, it is a contact-sport that has gorwn a lot in recent times. Most of the 32 teams had to qualify in their national tournments in order to assist EQC. So, there you'll find the Eagles. From now on, I will publish more frequently about this topic with a series called "The Road of an Eagle to Oxford".
