EQRADIA DO EQRADIA

How many kids?:

1 or 2 at the most, maybe a daughter first and then later a son.

Who’s the strict one?:

Equius is superficially the ‘strict’ one because he’s very particular and makes a lot of rules, but when it comes to discipline, he sucks.

Aradia on the other hand is mostly nice but NOTHING GETS PAST HER. She’s the one you’re scared of.

Who lets them get away with everything?:

 Like I said, it’s Equius. He’s a huge push-over. He tries so hard to be strict but it’s such a flimsy façade.

Was either one reluctant to be a parent?:

They were both hard to motivate at first but committed after! It’s the Sagittarius and Aries personalities.

 Aradia is adventurous and independent, so she wants to keep her independence. She’d be a good mom but she probably took a long time to warm up to the idea of motherhood and it was probably Equius who started wanting kids first.

On the other hand, though he wanted kids Equius was very reluctant to be a parent because of his STRENGTH and rage fits, but Nepeta and Aradia calm him down significantly and he gets better with age. Still, he dosen’t see himself as improving so it was hard to convince him he’d be a good father!

Family Traditions?:

First of all, the kids are used to having an Aunt Nepeta in their lives, she’s like their second mother. Visits from her are routine!

Equius wants to teach his children lots of useful skills, teach and culture them. He'd want to show them all the Alternian traditions and social ideas. He’s too overzealous about it so Aradia helps balance it out with...sanity.

But she’s also SO weird herself, so things like “family corpse excavations” happen and I can imagine her teaching her kids lots of on-hands archeology and filling their heads with...odd ideas.

If they were on Earth she’d probably have them celebrating Dia De Los Muertos and casually introducing her kids to a lot of weird death culture stuff.

Equius helps moderate that a little because it scares him a bit.

Oh also Indiana Jones is a family tradition.

Any requirements of the kids? (bring honor to the family, get married and have lots of kids, etc):

Equius has high expectations for things like honorand Aradia is more relaxed but they’re both geniuses in their own way and very responsibility-oriented people so yes, they’d have high expectations of their kids.

Overall parenting style:

 Very active and responsible! They'd push their kids too hard sometimes to "be the best" because they're both competitive people and geniuses in their own rite, but Aradia's quirkiness helps keep things fun and unconventional.

They'd be intense parents, but interesting and good ones.
