not much of a nervous tic but more so a habit that developed during the disappearance of the Shaman. when he witnessed man’s detriment to the Earth, he started to personify and give it life; giving Earth female pronouns.
when the Shaman disappeared, that was when the world’s balance came undone and greed succumbed the people of Capital City. one person in particular who became a complete totalitarian, Shi, who seemed to possess a natural ability to lead and persuade. without the Shaman’s presence, chaos and calamity bred unto the streets and the people grew restless but Shi knew his way with words were his greatest weapons and that was when he took the opportunity to strike. the populace was his prey and in no time, he had everyone wrapped around his finger and doing his bidding.
upon the rise of Shi, the Earth’s state began to crumble. he began growing concrete trees; buildings and factories. they towered over the buildings that laid there originally. and like wildfire, they spread. now, smoke littered the skies and pristine waters found pollution. because Capital City was only so big, he looked to expand and he started to press towards the untouched vegetation.
it was in that moment, he felt a connection with Her; the Earth. he had already become a warrior totem but he now had something else to fight for. he had to fight for Her because She was dying.
