RIP SCHOOL HORSE
so this weekend, I went to the barn, as usual to go ride, and when I arrived Dan said that I had to wait int he saddlery. I was wondering why. There were a lot of girls in it, and I felt kinda lonely. Then I learned that it was because the veterinarian had to put down a school horse. I didnt know him, but I felt bad for the horse. I really hope it was an old horse who had lived an nice life. Anyways, I didnt end up riding that they because we had to wait 1 hour before we actually could ride and that I had a brunch at 12 with my famjam. So here I am, not riding for A WEEK. oh god, i really hope that hes not gonna be too excited when I ride him tomorow or thursdayy!! Im kinda afraid hahah.
rode him again yesterday and..
everything seems to be back to normal! i mean he's not shaking his head anymore.. YAYYYY:) im so freaking happy right now cause that really bothered me!! oh and I let my mom ride him for like 5 min. She walked him and did a pole, she was so happy! hahahah. awh love them both to death. <3
little update on my life...
So lets get started..
1) He was shaking his head so freaking badly.. i coundnt take it anymore… and then he freaking refused ( FOR THE FIRST TIME) an oxer.. okay i agree i was really not straigt but it doesnt matter.. now i know that he could do it to me whenever… ugh.
2) I did the dressage clinic with Erin and I think it helped me A LOT. I learned that i need wayyyy more outside rein that i thought i did and that when he shakes his head, i need to "check" him on my outside rein… plus i learned that my weight plays a huge role in th respect he has for me. When i lean backwords, hes like WOAH OKAY SHES THE BOSS ILL BETTER LISTEN TO HER hahah. No but seriously, it REALLY helpssss ! :D
3) Yesterday, i rode him and it went REALLLLLYYYY WELLL!! i think i finally got it, like with the outside rein and with the weight… i mean i felt like he finally respected me and what i asked him… when i asked him to gallop, he tried to shake his head, and i checked him and he finally got it like then i did a few transition and he didnt shake his head ever again! hahah. but dont worry i know that i still have to be gentle with his mouth since hes still a baby.
Merry Christmas !
im wishing you all happy holidays!
b.t.w.: i went to the barn last saturday and we did a little course, it was amazing ! So first it was a diagonal line of 2 strides (which was good) then 2 in and out followed by a vertical that was situated 4 long strides further and we finished on a big oxer (which i had a bit of difficulty at first but then it was good. ) I also learned that my trainer changed the bit of his bridle to a gentler one, plus he now will have a couple of meetings with an osteopath, which will help him with his bone problems.
