The basics for your trekking trip
If you are thinking of taking the adventure on your own, there is a very special way in which you can begin the challenges that nature can put you in coastal towns, mountainous or desert scenarios depending on where you want to start, just keep in mind that there are places that a simple walk or a bus trip won´t take you, decide where you want to live all the magic of hiking discovering and touring new places, will only be a matter of getting your airplane tickets and let the adventure begins.
If you dare to go hiking during your holidays, you open the door to a lot of opportunities to discover authentic places, lost and far away from the great tourist masses. However, regardless of whether you travel through the Andes of Peru or the Utah National Park, there are certain things you should know before throwing yourself into this great adventure.
Plan well the route to take
As a beginner hiker the first thing you should do is to consider a completely achievable route and not from the beginning to seek to climb the base camp on Everest, it is better to plan adequately how and when you will reach your destination, to know a little more about the terrain you want to explore and know what points of reference you will take to make your route and thus not lose yourself in the adventure. Although currently the most popular routes already have signals that will help you to follow the road, besides that you won´t be the only one wanting to travel the wonderful routes that the different destinations have for you, this and knowing how much it will take you to reach the marked place will help you to know if you go more delayed than normal and at a totally isolated point you are not on the right track, so researching and preparing the route before starting is crucial.
Know your limits
If you're not at all fit, field trips or gentle hills are perfect to start with, but if you haven´t visited the gym for a long time and you run out of breath when climbing the stairs, you'd better not go on the long runs that need a little more experience and physical skills, we must be well aware of the capabilities and not try a route that goes much further. Make routes by areas with low elevation or long walks with breaks, a good hiking route should cost you a little but not leave you breathless and prevent you from enjoying the landscape or the environment in which you find yourself.
The equipment is basic
That would be a great adventurer without his equipment to overcome the various difficulties that can be found on the road, from having to climb a steep hill, to carry the necessary supplies in the backpack and that is why the most important thing is to have a good footwear, it's up to you if you decide to wear hiking shoes or a pair of boots but take into account the weather conditions of your destination and the length of your walk.
Don´t think about it anymore, take the adventure, get your airplane ticket and go through all those places full of life waiting to be discovered.
