The villain squints. "You're not my husband." ((In which Twinsie meets the husband))
“Shouta?” The name slips from his mouth before he can stop it, eyes wide in surprise as he stares at his friend. Or, more accurately, this world’s version of his friend. Honestly it’s probably more shocking that he hadn’t run into the man yet, considering how often he seemed to gravitate towards his own twin, although that could have something to do with the nature of the quirk that seemed dead set on throwing him here at the most inopportune times.
His brain seems to catch up with the situation as he realizes exactly what the man had said, and he’s glad for the directional speaker hiding the blush creeping up his neck. Right- his double had said he was married to his friend, hadn’t he? It was crazy to think there was a world like this where not only were he and his best friend villains, but they were also married. It put far too much hope in his heart about the situation in his own world, but he’s quick to clamp down on that- there’s no evidence that his own Shouta returns his crush, and he isn’t willing to risk their friendship just to get his feelings out. Still, he’s happy his twin had Aizawa, even if they were both hellbent on wreaking havoc around this world.
Speaking of, the man currently staring him down was a villain. If this version of Eraserhead was even half as skilled as his own (and, judging by the abilities of his own twin, he definitely was) then now was not the time to get lost in his hopeless feelings about his friend. It would be foolish to let his guard down just because this man shared the same face as his Shouta- the villain probably had no qualms about murdering someone who dared impersonate his husband.
Focusing fully on the man in front of him, Hizashi brought his hands up in what he hoped was a peaceful gesture. “Oh hey there Eraser! Good observation! It’s kinda a long story, but I’m just passing through! I’ve met your husband though, we’re... um...” He trails off, unsure of how to finish that. Friends was definitely a stretch, but enemies seemed too much considering the man usually let him go before things got too out of hand. “we’re twins, I guess? Doppelgangers maybe. It gets kind of confusing sometimes.”
He shrugged, arms moving with his words habitually. He had no idea how much his twin had told Eraserhead, but it never hurt to try to play it cool. For all he knew saying the wrong thing would end up with him getting strangled by his friend’s double, and he wasn’t sure if he’d get sent home before Aizawa could do lasting damage. It was best not to test it.
