Intro
Hi guys, it’s Minni (I also play Elphaba). This is Glory from Almost, Maine by John Cariani. For people who have never seen or read the play, here is her scene. Here is some information on her:
(Rachel Bloom)┋ ( Glory Hubert ) is a/n (twenty nine) year old ( tour guide ).she is known to be (Friendly & Sincere), yet ( Broken & Naive ). that explains why she’s known as the (heart). rumour has it that they’re not even a real person -— just some weird freak of nature that somehow came from ( Almost, Maine by John Cariani ) ; i bet they’d ( love ) to be sent back into their fictional world !
Headcanons:
Glory can always be seen carrying a paper bag, although no one actually knows what’s in it. Anytime someone questions it or why she has it with her, she changes the subject. (explanation below and in video)
She enjoys ghost tours, and whenever she would visit Gettysburg, she would go on multiple.
She was a girl scout from when she was very little, to when she was eighteen.
She finds the new town fascinating and as a hiker, immediately went exploring.
Life Stuff:
She was in a longterm relationship with a man named Wes, and she was in love with him.
He left her to be with someone else.
Her heart literally hardened and broke in two.
She went to the hospital to have it fixed, and they told her they would have to remove it.
Once removed, the heart fell on the floor, shattered, and turned to slate.
She now carries it in a paper bag and has an artificial heart in her chest.
Wes came to apologize and get her back, but she rejected him, saying that her new heart did not want him.
Feeling completely crushed, he raced off, but an ambulance hit him, killing him.
Although it was not her fault, she blames herself for his death, and thinks that she killed him.
Believing that the northern lights are spirits on their way to heaven, Glory decided to hike up to Maine to see them, apologize to Wes, and say goodbye to him.
When she took a night to rest, she was transported into Artridge, and did not get to say goodbye to him.
She does not feel like she can truly love anyone now. Partially because of her lack of closure with Wes, and also because she does not think her artificial heart will allow her.
*note: what happens in the video is what was going to happen but she was sent to Artridge so it never did.
