@erchais hit the ❤
A full year.
It’d been one whole year since he’d saved them from what some insisted was nothing and what others definitely insisted was real. A man with a nightmare horse that had galloped through the fields and had summoned a glowing yellow barrier that had given way to what was probably the single most amazing sunrise that any person had seen in their lifespan. Other than a quiet thanks from a queen that had needed to assure her people that nothing world ending was going on, that a hero had save them and unfortunately their king was dead, he’d received nothing.
Not that he’d minded, he’d left before there could be any fan fare, and brought the kids home from Kakariko to where they belonged back in Ordon. Everything was back to normal save the rampant nightmares and loss of a dear friend that he’d wished would come back.
Of course now here he was, wearing the same green tunic he’d worn then and stood in a hall too ornate for a country farm hand to be in. He’d been asked to come to the palace, and while he’d gotten some odd looks from those that he’d passed ( both in an outside the castle walls ) he was left largely alone.
Now all he had to do was wait for the woman that had summoned him for one reason or another. At least the guards were good conversation while he waited.
