[ ✗ ] ——- The crisp and cold winds nipped at the pirate's skin. He wasn't used to such harsh weather; not even when he went about expecting it. To be fair, it wasn't really so cold. But Edward hated any amount of cold, so of course his body naturally wouldn't take well.
----- The shrill noise that greeted his ears, caressing his hair carried by the wind, he was sure was simply whistles through the branches. But after hearing it a few more times, he knew that wasn't the case. Squinting, he followed the noise, guided by a light of natural curiosity. It grew louder, and he could make it out to be the frantic screams of a woman--pleas for help.
----- The movement took a while to catch the cold man's eye. The moment it did, anger welled in his chest. The woman looked like she could fight, but there were so many others. Damn travelling groups. Cursing them with a chilling breath, Edward wasted no time scrambling over, wielding his sword, sending two men down with bullets to the skull. Knowing it wouldn't do much more use, he jammed the flintlock back into his belt, going back to the weapon he trusted most.
"And what on earth is such a lovely lady like you doing out in these parts?!"
