It was not unusual for Joker to find strangers wandering around the grounds. They were a circus, after all, and their entire livelihood depended on attracting members of the public. However, he did not expect to find someone this late into the evening, especially since there had been no show tonight so there was no reason for anyone other than the circus members to be around.

Was he lost, perhaps? But even that seemed unlikely, as this time the troupe had set up away from any large towns or cities. As far as he knew there were no residential areas nearby either, so there should not have been anyone around for miles.

     T here was not a single feeling in the world worse than this; feeling depressed and as if all hope was lost in the world. It was consuming her entire being, swallowing her whole and seeming as if it would never let her out. She was basically drowning from the inside out, and yet, there was not one single thing that she could do about it. 

     B ecause in the end, it had been her decision to break the engagement between her and Ciel once the truth about him had come to light. It was for the best, she had been telling herself before ending things with Ciel and dashing out of his estate before he could even begin to try to change her mind, that it was for the best. He was to end up breaking her heart anyways by dying and giving his soul up to one of the devil’s children as a meal, ruining any chance of her being able to ever be with Ciel and live happily ever after with him permanently.

     E lizabeth knows that she should be doing all that she can to try to rid the ‘demon’ away from her beloved and save him, but she knows it’s useless. Ciel didn’t want saving; he brought it upon himself. He selfishly chose to end his life all out of revenge, rather than confiding in family to help him with such an ordeal. And though she knows that and knows even more so that she should be screaming at him at that moment, she simply cannot.

     A ll of these feelings were too overwhelming to her, which is why she had resorted to keeping herself away from family. Having found a comfortable spot in the gardens where the flowers had kept her protected and shaded, Elizabeth decided it the best place to go and sob to her hearts content. During the middle of it, however, she heard the sound of footsteps upon the ground, and soon had been locking eyes with one of her brothers acquaintances. Which, in honesty, made the situation so much worse.

     ‘ W-would you mind leaving me be, Cheslock? I’ve...I’ve no time nor desire to talk... ‘

“What would you do if someone broke the rules to help another?”

“Breaking the rules is... ordinarily a dire offense but...” he paused a moment, thinking quietly. “I suppose it would depend on the circumstances.” He said with a curt nod. 

“Why? Are you planning on breaking rules?”

Hi there! I was looking through your Language of Flowers posts, which I love, and went back to a bit in the Weston Arc where flowers that look like carnations, to my ignorant eye, and I wondered if you could take a look and give your thoughts on it :) It's page 11, Chapter 81. I believe the flowers are some of those that fell of the Blue House students' hats when they fell into the river on the previous page. Thanks a lot!

Hello! Thank you! I haven’t done a Language of Flowers post in a while so I’m really happy for that request. :) I’ll take a look at the scene and I will write an extra post for it. (I'll try to get it done today.)

For a longer while, Mei-Rin simply stood there, apparently having no idea what to say. She did not know much about that noble, but she definitely did know that it was an evil person who found it funny to hurt children. And she, although she had been an assassin for so long, would have never make any harm to a child.

“That... must be some kind of a bad joke,” she muttered, turning her face away. The thought about it already made her feel pretty sick - how one could even think about her ending up with a man like this? “I... really don’t think that would ever be possible. Even if he was the last man alive.”
