Eremina Consistency Pays Off

Elena Eremina’s, pronounced e-RYO-mee-nah, consistency paid off with a Bronze medal in the 2017 All-Around competition in the Worlds. This boasts well for her and her future participation in team competitions. She hits more often than she doesn’t and she’s got this fight in her that’s not something we associate with Russian gymnasts.

I would like to say she is the ladies version of Ivan Stretovich. Ivan has made 2 worlds and 1 olympics - team competition years. He makes the team because he hits more often than not and scores well even with low difficulty. Right now it would be crazy to leave someone off the team with that consistency.

The dream team for next year would be Eremina UB/BB, Mustafina VT/UB/BB, Komova VT/UB/BB/FX, Akhaimova VT/FX  and maybe Paseka VT/FX if she’s fit or Melnikova VT/FX if she’s healthy and consistent.

I would put Ilyankova on the team but if Komova is back then she would go because she can do more apparatuses and Ilyankova has that serious back issue.
