Well, people always say notes and likes don’t matters, but the truth is they help to keep you interested in your blog. Of course there are people truly not interested in them, but it doesn’t work like this for everyone. Notes are not everything, but they somehow count. Still, you need to do stuff that you like, and not only to receive attention. Enjoy your game and your blog! Also, you can’t expect to receive much attention right away, it takes time, believe me. I’ve been on tumblr for more than 2 years, and at the beginning it was hard. The things i suggest you to do are:
Edit your pics. Edit them the way you want, you don’t need to be an artist, just play with saturation, lumonisity, etc. If you don’t know how to do this stuff, on tumblr you can find plenty of tutorial! I have my “how i edit my pics” here, if you want to take a look!
Be friendly. I know lots of people are shy, but being behind a screen can help you with this. Message people, even if it’s just to say hi. One thing leads to another, and you can make very good friends on here :)
ENJOY. This is the most important thing! The Sims is a game and you have to enjoy playing with it, or update your blog will only became a job. If you like playing legacy, do it. If you like writing stories using your sims, do it. If you like to take shoots and pose your sims, do it. it doesn’t matter, you just have to have fun!
