Day 20, Sprout

This freaking scenario popped into my head the other day and it's been bugging me ever since so I gave in and wrote it down.

Curled up on the couch and watching TV, you can't help but wonder if she knows what she's doing.

Her eyes are clearly focused on the screen, but her fingers, intertwined with yours, are messing with the many rings on your fingers. They linger on those with stones, the tips tracing the faces of the gems gently. It was difficult to ignore, and as much as you had been looking forward to your show, she had managed to make herself the focus of your evening, something she did often without realizing. You watch her fingers as if in a daze, the color of her skin a stark contrast to the grey of your own.

Apparently satisfied with your rings, her absentminded focus shifts to your fingers. She moves them slowly, the tips of her fingers messing with your sharp nails all the while. It feels surprisingly pleasant, and you can't seem to look away; you just let her keep fiddling with your fingers, and then your hands.

You manage to pry your eyes away from her fingers, and you look at her face. She wasn't looking at the TV anymore, her eyes instead looking at your hand. She suddenly looks up, and in the moment that your eyes meet, she gives you that bashful little smile of her's, and she releases your hand. "Sorry... Couldn't help it." You raise an eyebrow at her, and she looks down at her lap. "It's just, I really like your hands, so..."

You stare at her for the shortest of moments, and without a word, you take her hand, and proceed to give it the same treatment you were given. Except, she doesn't have any rings on her fingers. So you improvise, tracing her knuckles slowly before moving on to her fingers, and eventually her long, somewhat impractical nails.

When you finally look up, the color in her face brings a ghost of a smile to your lips. "I can see w-why. Your hands are pretty borin', compared to mine."

She glares at you playfully, and gives your shoulder a light whack. "You're a jerk."

The smile turns into a smirk. "That's w-why you love me."

You receive another whack on the shoulder, and she proceeds to stare at the TV. You chuckle, used to this behavior by now, and return your own gaze to the television, the two of you falling into a familiar silence. And it didn't take long before you find yourself holding her hand again.

Eridan/Annie (canon Eridan, not party meowrail Eridan)

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: They don’t really spoon. Eridan sleeps on his back and Annie sleeps on her side, so she usually ends up with her arm over him and her head on his shoulder.What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Eridan likes to watch Annie while she’s playing her video games, especially her Harvest Moon games. He always questions her about her routine and why she always seems to woo the same character type in each game. He even joins her occasionally; he really likes playing the mini-games on Magical Melody. As for Annie, she likes to mess with him when he’s watching something on the History Channel, and other things like that. She usually ends up in his lap and watching with him, when that happens.Who uses all the hot water in the morning: Eridan does; he also hogs the bathroom until he’s presentable, which has a tendency to drive Annie crazy, especially if she’s in a hurry for something. (“I’m a girl and I don’t take up as much time in the bathroom as you do! Jesus christ!”)What they order from take out: Eridan doesn’t like takeout, so they don’t get any.What is the most trivial thing they fight over: What they’re going to watch on TV. Especially when there are things they each want to watch but they’re on at the same time. They usually settle the disputes by fighting over the remote, and whoever gets hold of it gets to watch what they want, and the loser is forced to record the program to watch later.Who does most of the cleaning: Annie does. Eridan helps with the dishes and takes out the trash, but that’s about all he does.Who leaves their stuff around: Annie has notebooks and pens and pencils all over the place and Eridan’s always nagging her to put them all in one spot, like he does with his own stuff.Who remembers anniversaries: Annie has a tendency to think she’s the only one who does, but sometimes Eridan surprises her by remembering a major one and doing something really nice to celebrate it. He always ends up asking her for things the day after, to repay him for being so thoughtful.

Fakir/Ahiru

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: I don’t really imagine that these two would spoon, actually. They seem more like they’d be face-to-face.What is their favorite non-sexual activity: They like to lounge around the lake a lot. Swimming, picnicing, and the occasional writing session, they all happen by the lake.Who uses all the hot water in the morning: Neither of them, I wouldn’t think. Fakir takes pretty short showers, and even though Ahiru would be in there for a while, she wouldn’t use all the hot water.What they order from take out: They don’t get take-out. They eat at home a large majority of the time, though they do occasionally go to the pizza place in the square.What is the most trivial thing they fight over: The first thing to come to mind would be Ahiru nagging Fakir to stop writing and do other things, like come down for dinner or to come to bed. x3Who does most of the cleaning: They share the chores for the most part, but Ahiru ends up doing the cleaning more often than not. uwuWho leaves their stuff around: Definitely Fakir; there’s paper and ink bottles and quills everywhere.Who remembers anniversaries: They both do~

Toki/Jake (because reasons)

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Ahaha I imagine that Toki would be, actually. xD Jake would always say that it’s him though, to make himself feel better. But everybody else knows that he’s lying.What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Going out for a walk, or occasionally saving up their money to go on trips across the world. Usually just a walk, though.Who uses all the hot water in the morning: Whoever is the first one to wake up, which is usually Jake. But sometimes Toki beats him to the shower and he complains about the lack of hot water by the time it’s his turn.What they order from take out: Pretty much whatever they want at the time. Jake has to hold back a bit though, because of Toki’s allergies and other things.What is the most trivial thing they fight over: Jake’s a bit of a pushover so if he ever does something that bothers her, he just kinda backs off. But if there’s one thing that these two fight over, it’s how to play certain video games. Jake tends to go looking for side quests and Toki would nag him to get on with the plot already.Who does most of the cleaning: That’s Toki’s gig. The house never really seems to stay tidy for long, though, and it really bothers her.Who leaves their stuff around: There’s shit everywhere, and most of the time they can’t tell what belongs to whom.Who remembers anniversaries: They’re both pretty forgetful of those things. They usually think back and realize that the anniversary had happened a while ago, and then go do something spontaneous to celebrate it, no matter how long ago it actually happened.
