I dunno why but i always thought that Melange and Machiatto are like both Fred and Marshmallow's kids xD (its just a thought tho, don't take this seriously)

i had the same thought the first time i saw them too tho. especially macchiato. their jp name is almost the combination of marshmallow and fred’s names. like- fred’s name “chatora-san” means tawny-striped. marhsmallow is “point-san”(for pointed cat). and macchiato’s name is “torapoint-san”(striped-pointed). also macchiato’s color can be put under the category of “chairo(茶色)” in japanese just as fred. with the logic of neko atsume’s naming system macchiato can also be called “chatorapoint-san”(tho it’s too long for a name) anyway it’s hard for me not to think of this as i’m a hardcore fredmallow shipper(sorry) but i don’t really take this serious either lmao i just enjoy drawing four of them together plus they also come together a lot to my yard (๑´ω`๑人)♡ i do have vague headcanon that melange/macchiato are younger than fred/marshmallow tho

me? I only got Sentry, Raw, Daster Gaster, and.. there’s 2 more but I never developt them more than a concept and very short story..
