hi i’m leaving tumblr. to those who think the purge thing won’t affect my blog: for some reason one of my cat post got flagged as sensitive content before. i applied for reconfirmation but there was no use. and that post was just the one /i noticed/. this is never gonna end when they use computer to scan and purge blog. and most importantly, i don’t agree with what tumblr is doing at all so i will just stop using its service. if this won’t change i will not consider coming back. thank you for all of your support here. and bye!!

ok i’m still not sure how the t/mb/lr p/u/r/g/e blog thing really works but i just can’t agree with the way they carry this out. so currently i’m considering to get out of this place by myself even tho my blog seems to be perfectly safe and against no law.

preference is a very subjective matter and my own feeling may not make sense to others but surely i can share my understanding of this character.

1. personality：イケメン風味(having ikemen’s temperament)

first of all i’d like to pick up my reference here. if you want to know more about the character info of neko atsume cats you can go find this book：アップデート版 ねこあつめ ねこだらけ図鑑

it’s the official character book of neko atsume. you can find a little more information about each cat(only a little tho…) but you need to understand japanese or have friends who can translate it for you.

back to the topic personality, basically ikemen means good looking/attractive guy but it also has rich cultural content including specific traits, fashion taste etc. and everyone may have their own definition of what an ikemen should be like. since cat can’t really be an ikemen(they can not look like a handsome man they’re not even a man. also the personality info notes it as “temperament”), the social/extending meaning of ikemen is rather important here. there’s still a broad room to interpret what exactly ikemen temperament means for chatora’s personality. but we may already get some hint from the book. in the character book they said: 

chatora-san is a cat whose face is known by everyone living in the neighborhood as they come by ppl’s places and play with everyone every day. they’re like everyone’s friend, person who’s affable to everybody(八方美人 in japanese, often used to describe someone who would adjust their own actions/deeds in front of different ppl to please them and avoid conflicting situations) also chatora-san will have reaction whatever name you use to call them.

according to the description we may at least grasp that chatora-san is a super friendly cat. they’re not shy or cold even in front of strangers. it’s fine if you don’t know their name. with just a call like “kitty~ come here kitty~” they’ll come and play with you. i guess they also pay attention to the surrounding a lot(not like those cats who only mind their own business) and don’t ignore people. that’s how chatora can be everyone’s friend. like when you want to pet them they’d just lie down and relax and when you bring out some cat toy they will get up and see what you prepared for them. what i like the most about chatora-san is that they’re popular and loved by people(like an ikemen) because they genuinely approach and befriend everyone, not because they look especially cute/good or sth. and yes my heart just melts for this cat.

2. fish number they give

this part may also reflect a bit of chatora’s personality. they are one of the few normal cats who at times give out more than 20 fish when they leave the yard. i’d like to think it’s bc chatora is generous n when they get a lots fish they just want to share with others(it’s also interesting that in neko atsume’s LINE stickers chatora appears as they give out a gold fish↓)so generous so ikemen

3. power level [150]

chatora’s personality is mild(not aggressive at all)but they’re still very fit!(their power level is rather high among normal cats) probably preserves cat’s hunting skill and is also able to protect themself. ah i just love my healthy baby…

4. memento

ngl chatora’s memento is one of the cutest so elegant and nice… in jp ver the memento is described as their “treasure”. it’s sth they like and want to keep. i’m not sure if the memento shows chatora’s aesthetic/they simply like it a lot or if it’s sth memorial and meaningful for them so they want to keep it. either way is good tho…

my favorite is chatora-san(fred). i don’t have least fav but apparently i’m a lot more interested in normal cats than rare cats.i love how all normal cats look the same and only have color/pattern differences. that’s creepy.
