in june of 2007, the a's and astros played each other for the first time. i was there all three games, and because i still loved the astros, it was tough! the autographs are from top to bottom, joe kennedy, shannon stewart, and curt young. joe died in november of that year of a heart condition. what i'd noted when he signed for me was that he was very sweaty. curt was a pitching coach for the a's from 2004-2010, then again from 2011-2017.
i was so excited to see my favorite teams play.
bobby crosby stretching, mark ellis coming onto the field. junction jack, the astros mascot of old, is imitating bobby.
eric chavez batting, eric munson catching. this is notable because not only had they attended college together, but also high school. baseball is full of these stories.
chavvy and munce again.
bobby crosby and mark ellis, again.
eric chavez, six-time gold glove winner at third base.
