Today, I struggled a little. I struggled with what I wanted to do and what I could do. Resting is hard for me to do, but I can't jeopardize my health. I took time to reflect and to embrace things that bring me joy and healing. Today I did a lot of reflection. I have to let go of the fear and be fair to myself. Sometimes, it's okay to take a rest so that I can let my light shine. Today, I learned that there is joy to be found in doing what I love and taking my time doing it. Like the fisherman on the card, sometimes things we love to do take time and patience. I finished a painting and it took me three days to finish it. It also took me down a new path. I painted something completely different than I normally paint and while it was a little frightening to try something new, I'm so glad that I was brave enough to to on that adventure. I've overcome so many obstacles, but most of all, I've really learned how to tune into my intuition and my spirit. This evening, I asked the cards “What did I learn about myself today?” I drew The Magician from the Ink Witch Tarot and the Heart from the Paper Oracle. I’ve begun a new journey towards self love and self acceptance. The thin I’m realizing lately though is that this ability for self love was within me all along. All I needed was someone to come along and give me the key that would open the door. This evening, I asked tbe cards "What did I learn about myself today?" I drew Heart and Cross from The Painted Oracle. I've been learning about love and self love lately. 💖 I'm really good at loving others but I really struggle with loving myself. I need to look at it differently, I need to remember the times in my life where self live was easist. 💖 There were times throughout my life where I was able to love myself completely. Those moments are part of my spirit. The Paper Oracle is a gorgeous deck by Eric Maille, creator of The Ink Witch Tarot. Being primarily a Lenormand deck, I’m surprised by how easy it is to read with it. I find Lenormand a lot more difficult to read than using a Tarot deck, but there is something about The Paper Oracle that invites you in. 🍃 Eric Maille has done an excellent job of making the deck more friendly. He’s changed the man and the woman that are normally present in a Lenormand deck to Masculine and Feminine and has even included new cards including Non-Binary so that everyone can see themselves within this deck. He’s taken away the religious overtones of The Cross by having it represent the Celtic Cross reading in Tarot. 🍃 The art is amazing and colourful. When I look at the card backs, it reminds me of flowers, ready to show me how I’ve grown or what I need to grow further. This deck is a world that I want to live in. I can actually see it taking life on paper as it has in the cards. I love how his two decks compliment each other. The Paper Oracle can be used on its own, but I think it’s fun to see what happens when you pair it with Tarot cards. It’s like the Paper Oracle is the light while the Ink Witch is the shadow. 🍃 I thought I would draw a card from The Ink Witch Tarot and a card from The Paper Oracle to see what they had to say to me. I drew the 7 of Wands from The Ink Witch Tarot and The Wheel from The Paper Oracle. What I see when I look at these cards is this: I’ve been able to rise above what was holding me back and I can see my path forward more clearly, however I should take care not to end up on a never ending wheel and repeat my past mistakes. Though I’ve had to fight for so long in order to find my way, I can welcome new opportunities that will come my way. 🍃 The Paper Oracle is the perfect deck to drop in your pocket and take out when you need a bit of clarity or you want to tap into your intuition.
