It was the first weekend in December, Erik wasn’t playing a game this weekend although he was going to go to the game tomorrow night. We very rarely have days where we are both off together, especially with Erik’s football schedule. But today is the day where we had time together.
We decided to go and do all the Christmas Shopping while we could, So he could help pick his presents out for his family, I knew I would end up wrapping them up, because Erik wasn’t the greatest at things like that. He tries, but it fails.
“Erik! Have you nearly done?” I called at the bottom of the stairs, hopping my feet into my boots as I zipped them up. I could hear Erik banging upstairs, frowning at what he could actually be doing up there.
“Be down in a minute” He replied. I sighed as I doubled checked my bag that I had everything I needed for the shopping trip. I picked up Erik’s car keys and stood waiting for the door for him to come down the stairs.
A few moments later Erik walked down the stairs fixing his jacket as he did so and looked at me “Okay, Ready” He replied as he kissing my cheek softly as he took the keys from my grip.
“Lets go shopping” he says with less enthusiasm, he hated going shopping mainly because he knows that I take him in every shop. But we had nothing for nobody, I had no idea on what to get his family, I didn't know where to start.
It was a short drive into the town and we was soon parking up. The drive was nice, every so often someone spotted that Erik was driving so he was waving at people as we drove by.
I got out and grabbed my bag out of the back of the car before we started to walk into the shopping centre. “Have you any idea on what we can get for your family. I have a rough idea on what I can get for my family.” I say I interlace my fingers with Erik's as we walked into the lift to take us to the shops.
Erik shrugged “No, But I’m sure we could figure something out” He says as he steps out of the elevator and walked into the crowded shopping centre. I nodded and sighed “Alright, lets go and have a look around” I say as I looked around the the shops that was around.
“Mum wanted a new dinner piece, so I’m thinking of getting that for her for Christmas, so I need to be in that shop over there” I say indicating the shop that was advertising home essentials.
“Is there anything you’re mum would want for Christmas?” I asked, Maybe his mother may had hinted that she wanted something for Christmas that he may have picked up. Erik shook his head. “I don’t think so, why don’t we just get the same as your mum?” he asked.
I raised my eyebrow and shook my head “No, I’m pretty sure your mum doesn't want another dinner set” I sigh. We walked into the department store as I looked around “Look why don't you go and find something for your dad and see if you can find something for my dad” I say pointing in the direction of the men section.
Erik nodded and let go of my head as he walked away to the men section. I walked to the homeware and looked for the dinner set mum would like as I picked it up, I walked over to the women section had browsed the section looking at something we could get Erik’s mum.
She liked Jumpers, so i was looking around to see if I could find anything, I came across a nice jumper which I thought would suit his mum. I picked a couple out so Erik could choose which one was better.
I walked across to the mens department to find that Erik was looking at the trainers that was on the shelf “Did you find anything” I crept up on him, smirking slightly as he jumped back. “No...I was just looking” he replied smiling before walking away. I needed a present for Erik I still hadn’t got him anything, making a mental note that I would come back for them.
I followed in the direction of Erik as I noticed some aftershave my dad usually wore, I picked one up, deciding that it was the present we would by him “Hey, I just picked this up for my dad...I was thinking maybe we could get your dad the same?” I asked Erik as I showed him the box to which he noticed.
“I’ve not seen that one before, I’m sure he’ll like it though...What about a watch?” He says looking at the cases of watches. I nodded “Sure we could get a watch” I say nodding as I watched Erik ask the store assistant to help him.
“So which sweater for your mother, I was unsure so I thought you know your mother better” I say holding the two sweaters up. Erik looked away from the store assistant “The red one babe” He replied “it’s not red it’s maroon” I clarified.

After looking around the stores and stopping for photos mainly Erik and football fans we was nearly finished. “I’ve just got to go and get one last present” I say to which I got a groan from Erik which I chuckled “You take all the bags to the car and i’ll meet you down at the car” I say handing the few bags that I was carrying.
Erik went back to the car and I had went back into the department store to pick those trainers Erik was eyeing up earlier in the store. I asked for the pair that was in Erik’s size before I had a look around to see if there was anything else i could get him. I was going to come back when I was on my own to complete Erik’s shopping as I left the department store.
I walked down the stairs to the car park, seeing that Erik had moved the car near to where the stairwell is. I smiled as I got in the car and put the bag in the back seat. “What is that?” He asked looking over at me.
“Never you mind....you just have to wait till Christmas” I replied.
