🖼✍️🏾reposted from @curtissjacobsgallery_harlem Curtiss Jacobs Gallery presents "Hittin’ a Straight Lick with a Crooked Stick", a solo exhibition by Erin LeAnn Mitchell.
Opening Sunday, March 29 (2–5 PM), the exhibition brings together nine vibrant textile works exploring Black nudes in motion, energy, and transformation. This marks the first time the series has been presented together.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, and now based in Harlem, Mitchell draws inspiration from the visual legacy of Black liberation and imagination, with influences ranging from Faith Ringgold and Aaron Douglas to Kerry James Marshall. Her work centers on the power, labor, and vision of Black women as a force that shapes history, culture, and the archive.
Join us for the opening reception and experience this dynamic body of work.
