What do you mean by "eristic strategies"? I don't recognize that word, not sure if it's a typo, a word I don't know (fascinating!), or a word from another language that I don't know (also fascinating!).

Oh no no, it's not a typo (in fact I had to check on it before answering because I immediately panicked :D). In rhetoric, eristic is a strategy of discussing things not to get to the truth of them, but to win an argument. It's definitely fascinating, and the post I commented on describes only a few of eristic techniques (but efficient ones!). A must read is Schopenhauer's "Eristic Dialectic" - a very interesting little book of evil :).
