Hiatus!

As stated here, I'll be going on a hiatus for Fall of Dalamud.

The past month has been incredibly taxing, and horrific to deal with for me. I've been emotionally, and mentally drained. As stated I will try to pick up the story in the coming two week interval, but it might take me until the one after that or more.

I'm really sorry, but please know I'm not dropping this. I just need time for my brain to decompress.

So I figured I should make a pinned post finally- So here we go! I am Zax, I'm just a writer who posts whatever they're working on. Also talking about games occassionally. I reblog stuff that catches my interest too! Biggest fixations are my FFXIV characters, and the world I've been putting them in. Their story is radically different from the canon game, so feel free to ask questions ^^ Below the line is some information on them!

I will say this: If you are looking for my works, I would suggest checking the #Fall of Dalamud tag on my blog. I tend to put most of my pictures, writings, or whatever involving my WoLs there! An index will also be placed under the cut! Hope you enjoy your stay, and like what you see!

Levai Qestir, my first blorbo.. An Au Ra/Viera mix. Originally just Au Ra, but due to the ritual used to bring them to the First going wrong, they gained Viera traits alongside their Au Ra ones. Parents forced them to flee from Othard due to their proximity to Doma, and didn't want Levai or their sisters to be caught in the war. A streetrat turned Warrior of Light, and main protagonist of the story.

Taken in by the Roegadyn Viansa Takei, and taught basic thaumaturge Levai was around to help save the realm before the Seventh Umbral Calamity. Eventually, over the course of stopping the XIV Legion's schemes, became a black mage of repute.

Levai is also a system, but I think I want to delve into that at a later point. They use they/them, and identify as agender!

Niandra Takei, a Garlean Roegadyn with the third eye of Garlemald. Born in Garlemald, but raised in Limsa Lominsa. Her mother, Viansa Takei, was a former Legatus. She fled with a baby Niandra after losing faith in the Garlean Empire.

Niandra's relationship with her mother is strained, and before either could try to patch it Viansa lost her life saving the realm by Nael van Darnus. Niandra took up her mother's bow, and became a Scion of the Seventh Dawn upon their creation.

As a Garlean, Niandra has no way to control aether. So she makes up for this weakness via magitek to draw in aether, and dispell it in the same manner of spellcraft. She is another Warrior of Light, and has a sister-brother like relationship with Levai.

There are two other Warriors of Light to this story, but they belong to my partner, @shard628!

I’m starting Octoberstuck! I was going to start today but my brain decided “Bluuuuh”. So I’ll do two parts tomorrow to make up for it! Before that, I want to thank a few people for just being nice and helping me- First! I’d like to thank @chezforshire for making this prompt! I won’t be drawing sadly, only writing since I am not great at drawing right now ;; @homestuckexamination For giving me some advice on Characters, and potential ideas for Lands and such! That was honestly just a big help, and the person owning the blog is super nice! (And I hope to actually befriend them one day!) And finally @onlytheembersremain for helping me even get the courage to work this up! Their work inspired me a lot, and really the reason I’m even giving this a go. (Sorry it’s not dark souls content, I will get to that eventually! I just need to find my notes on my world again-) So... yeah! I’m excited, I hope you’re all excited! Hopefully I’ll get through all the prompts, because I definitely want to try ;; So, see you tomorrow when I post the first bit!

I want your thoughts.

I would like to get your thoughts of what I should do with this blog: Should I focus on using my original characters in my own/friends’ worlds more often? Or should I use fancharacters like Trolls, Star Wars OCs, etc.? I could also just keep to doing a mix of both, but I just want to see what you all enjoy the idea of! I post this now because I know some my mutuals are night owls on this hellsite. (You know who you are.)

Zaxoron “Zax” Erith - Everyone’s favorite little prince of hell! A lust demon, and incredibly flirtatious with just about anyone. While they enjoy their home of the underworld, Zax has a tendency to make visits to the human ream. Seren “Serenity” Vaneer - A demon of pride, and a man of the arts. Speak to him about music, art, and anything creative and he’ll never stop talking! Also has a interest in magic~ Realin Esbaelte - A odd fellow, typically seen in places of corruption. Be it from political mismanagement to  dark magic. They seem to be the healer of sorts, and the areas they visit. No one is quite sure of his species, but those that meet them seem to agree that they are NOT human. Well, that’s the players for this little game? Can't believe I have to do this.

So um. Fair warning, I guess? I'm not sure I'll be updating my fics on Ao3 anymore. Or posting anything online outside of curated discords, and with friends.

The latest events have made me weary, and uncomfortable with the idea. I nearly gave up writing entirely because of what's going on, knowing that people are using what I've made to train shitty AIs.

I might change my mind, I don't know. I'll need to think on it, and see how I feel. If I change my mind, I'll let you all know. Yet right now? I think I'm not going to post on Ao3 or here, to be safe.

I apologize greatly, especially to people I'm only mutuals with here or Ao3, as you won't be able to see Fall of Dalamud. I wish there was a better way to resolve this, but I just don't see one at present. I really enjoyed sharing, and while I didn't get many hits or even comments or kudos on anything I made it was still nice to know some people took an interest.

This situation fucking sucks, and I'm worry I have to take this approach. If tumblr is fine enough, I might post future chapters here instead? I'm unsure, I'm sure there's people that scrape fics here too.

So, yeah. Fall of Dalamud won't be updated anywhere publicly for awhile. I'm sorry.
