"I got vibe checked and only scored 67%---is that bad?" His tone was genuinely curious as he glanced over at Langdon, finding himself leaning up near Langdon, his elbows resting firmly against the nurse's desk as he pondered his own question. "Do my vibes feel off to you?"
i'm gonna knock the mustache right off of his face [ protective and/or jealous frank we love to see it ]
“ frank. ” his name is said with a soft tone, yet there’s a firmness behind it. mel doesn’t like confrontation, always feels bad afterwards, and she knows that the patient they’ve been treating hasn’t been the best behaved—more flirtatious than anything—but mel doesn’t want frank to get into trouble over it. “ don’t. it’s fine. i don’t think he meant anything by it, anyway. ”
since the patient’s admission into the ER he’d told her that her hair looked like sunshine and her eyes looked like pools of honey. he’d complimented the beauty mark below her right eye and told her how much her glasses and braid suited her. mel hadn’t really thought much of it, though she could tell when someone was flirting with her, but she’d merely accepted the compliments and kept a sense of professionality. she wasn’t interested anyway.
frank, however, had immediately gone rigid and curt. mel knew him well enough to know that something was wrong and after they’d excused themselves from the room and mel checked on him, the words out of his mouth had surprised her to say the least.
“ i also just… don’t want you to do anything that’ll get you into trouble, alright ? ”
[ braid ] for your muse to braid mine’s hair [ frank is a girl dad he knows his braids!!! ]
“ i can do it myself, ” mel says as she feels frank tug the elastic band from her hair. their shifts would be over soon, anyway, but frank had insisted on fixing it. “ it’s really not that hard… ” and she figured he had better things to do than rebraid messy hair that she already planned to wash when she got home. no fireworks. no headphones. no celebration. just a nice warm shower with her name on it— then she’d put on something to watch and curl up on the couch eating takeout.
but, in this current moment, mel is weak. the feeling of frank’s fingers combing out any tangles is soothing and she can feel her eyes flutter shut.
“ just, um- don’t make it loose, please. ”

The last person he wants to see right now is Langdon. He doesn’t know if the man followed him into an empty room, or just happened to see him in here, but he doesn’t want Langdon in here with him.
At least he’s not in the middle of a full blown break down. He just needs a fucking break, get somewhere he can breathe. He sort of wishes he would have hidden behind something so he’s not seen by Langdon.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
Robby breathes in, exhales. Over and over. The noises are driving him insane and this dark room is the only reprieve he has at the moment. He just needs a little bit to calm down, to gather his bearings, and not be so fucking overwhelmed by noises and bright lights and chaos.
“Listen - unless there’s an emergency, go the fuck away. I’m fine. I’m fucking fine.” It’s pretty clear he’s not fine but he won’t admit that. Not with what Langdon had said that one day. Instead, he turns his back to him and lets his head rest against the wall as he inhales and exhales.
❛ i'm sorry, but i'm just thinking of the right words to say. ❜
it’s not often that frank is left speechless, mel has observed. she supposed that she hadn’t even considered it a possibility that he wouldn’t know what to say when she sang his praises. a pep-talk, just as he’d done for her ten months ago. still, as much as she tried, mel knew that she wasn’t always the most…tactful with her wording and was already second-guessing herself.
her brow furrows slightly, biting the inside of her lip. “ did i say something wrong…? ”
[TXT] : what are you doing right now?
[TXT: DR. LANGDON] : ordering take out. [TXT: DR. LANGDON] : i know. unhealthy. [TXT: DR. LANGDON] : i don't really like to cook.
❛ it doesn't matter who's wrong or right. ❜
"I think that really depends on the topic." Cassie looked over at Frank. "There's some things that I can't overlook Frank." She tried to keep her cool in the situation, but really, it was hard. Instead she had opted to use the moment as a teaching moment, not everyone could understand what she and Frank both had been through.
