Son of Owlflower and Fireleap, and younger brother of Palewhisker
Erminepaw had always been a bundle of energy and joy, despite his grouchy mentor, Emberstorm. He simply has a natural talent for appearing charming, seeing as he had endeared himself to his mentor, Spiderstar, and many other cats besides - such as the sweet Cherrycloud.
However, he was also a cocky apprentice, which was ultimately his downfall. One leaf-fall, a wolverine was scented within Spruceclan territory, and the clan was ordered to stay in camp until Spiderstar deemed it safe. The impatient young tom snuck out anyway to hunt, only to be caught by a fox that must’ve been trailing the larger predator, being thoroughly scarred. Fortunately, his brother Palewhisker had followed Erminepaw’s scent - but was gravely injured fighting the fox off alone. Palewhisker managed to get him back to camp, but ultimately died of his wounds, leaving Erminepaw disfigured and guilt-ridden.
The clan was not harsh on him, thinking that losing a brother was punishment enough for sneaking out, and instead gave him plenty of encouragement as he slowly recovered in the medicine den. Once he had, he was past the age most cats become warriors, and although he wasn’t given a final assessment, Spiderstar gave him his warrior name - Ermineheart, for his cheer and bravery in overcoming his wounds.
