Has anyone else noticed how unbelievably stupid and ridiculous spoiler culture has become? Like ok. I get it. You want to discover the plot for yourself. Cool. Me myself? Sometimes I NEED spoilers. I had to spoil nisekoi for myself so I didnt have a near panic attack everytime I read it. 5toubun is killing me for the same reason. But hey. We experience things different ways. It's all cool. BUT. Why go to SUCH LENGTHS to keep yourself from these??? Like, is it really gonna ruin your experience that much to know this one character does this or that??? As an example, the new tool album. My buddies and I are SUPER excited about it. Rewind a couple days ago. Theres a new cleaner, clearer version of the first two live bootlegs - invincible and descending - out, and I wanted to show one of my friends about it. And he proceeds to say
"No no.. I dont want to hear anymore of the new stuff until the album is released..."
Fine. TOTALLY get it. They're bootlegs anyway, just save yourself for the album version, as for me and my house etc... so now today. Another friend of mine sent me an article on the album with thoughts and some behind the scenes stuff from MJK(the lead singer) and some of the stuff was really funny, so I was like 'oh, gee, this friend would enjoy this...' so just after work today I go to show it to him and this was the result
Me: hey man, theres this article you gotta see. It's got like a track by track review by Maynard himself and it's HILARIOUS
Him:
oop, I'm gonna have to pass on that. Im refusing to look at ANY media regarding the new album till it's released. I haven't even looked at a tracklist.
Normally. I can handle this. But this time. Idk why... something just broke. Like I understand, but on the other hand I JUST CAN'T UNDERSTAND. IT'S A TRACKLIST NIMROD. IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S NOTATING THE ENTIRE SONG FOR YOU. AND FOR GOD'S SAKE. IT'S AN A L B U M. THE ONLY WAY TO TRULY SPOIL AN ALBUM IS THROUGH A LEAK.
So uh, yea. I think im done now, Thanks for coming to my Ted talk...
being in niche fandoms turns you into a hobby archivist if you're unhinged enough (time on your hands is irrelevant)
If the mood catches me right and I think real hard I can dig deep into a character's psyche and traumas and why the narrative made them the way they are to send a message to readers world wide, but for the life of me I won't know what they would buy at the store
you can tell I'm still heels dug into pre-2020 fandom because despite our extremely casual acceptance about characters and ships I still think I'll get knocked out in a back alley whenever I post
prepping myself for unhinged madness when the ship bracket tournament begins (sending propaganda for as many ships as possible)
I do not feel like rereading the books just to write down their outfits descriptions 😫😫😫 why can't they all wear Loric training suits and call it a day
I just realized Five's Externa ability to take on the material of whatever he touches
he's a chameleon. which are associated with tricksters and traitors
