Yeah... had to frog this.
I messed up the decrease, and realized... I’m not happy with the yarn, and this needs to go bye bye.
I’ll try this again when I find the right yarn.

Started the decrease for the side quest hat now that I've accepted my thumb just being in constant discomfort.
I decided to not do the second strip of elemental charts that goes with the large size hat because this is already pretty deep.
Double knit decrease isn't too hard actually. This video helped a lot!
The beasts appear!
For this Errant Errand sidequest, I cast on for the larger, 24″ hat size. I made some changes to the charts, and I’m glad I did. For one, the quest calls to repeat the elemental pattern a second time after the beast charts. I split them up so there’s one row of elements under, and one over. I also chose fire AND ice alternating.
One thing I’m glad about because of this is that it’s easier to keep track of where you are in the pattern based on where you are in relation to either fire or ice under your current row. SUPER helpful.
I also like having it switched up a bit. Now the story is about a fire kraken and an ice kraken fighting over a field!
This hat is starting to look like something! Working really well on my sharp sock hiya hiyas. I mixed up the elemental chart a bit so it's repeating fire and ice. Wait till you see the creatures! 🐙🔥🐙❄️
