Frogged but wanted to keep a record of how pretty this colour combo is.
I frogged and restarted my sweater last night.
I realized I wanted more positive ease, and instead of the cables I want to try to make puff sleeves.
I was almost halfway done the sleeves - almost had a finished sweater! - but what's the point of making your own clothes if it doesn't turn out the way you want.
I want a sweater I will reach for and wear. and what I had wasn't it.
I added 4 sts when I increased after the neckline, and instead of eyelets for the raglan increases, I'm doing llinc and rlinc with two stitches in the raglan. Those stitches will then be added to the body for a looser fit. Two inches before I separate the sleeves, I'm going to increase by 13 sts on the top of the sleeve to add a bit of puff. Maybe a little earlier, we'll see. That will give me more sts on the sleeves overall and then when I decrease for the cuffs it'll be a little puff.
Probably will make it longer too since I know I have lots of yarn.
Patterns are just suggestions anyway.
Another weekend and another old make has been frogged.
I loved the fit and the shape of the jumper, but unfortunately, the texture wasn't quite right for me so I've not worn it since making it earlier this year. I can be quite particular when it comes to how things feel on the arms and shoulders.
So I have unraveled the jumper and I'm in the process of winding it in to new balls, it's taking a while to get done because I knitted it with 2 strands held together but I want the balls to be a single strand so I can use it as either single or double in the future.
I am not sure what I will make with the yarn, but I will find something at some point!
Posting as proof I gave the german short row heel my best shot; I must've redone it a dozen times. I think I'll just have to come back to it another time.
Debating on frogging Frogged all the way; fit wise I think I needed another initial increase. No particular pattern, just knit a swatch and then used an existing sock for the measurements. I did use Judy's magic cast-on for the toe.
I'd love to hear how everyone else does their socks.
You've got to pick up every stitch. Must be the season of the witch. 🧙🏻♀️🧹
I did gauge swatches (excruciating) and knit about 6 inches of a cardigan and realised I knit fair isle much too tight for the gauge...
