Errende and Guilt
send me a character + a word and i’ll make a headcanon out of it.
guilt. even though he seems usually composed to others, the deaths of foolhardy travelers are a constant on his thoughts - because even though he isn’t technically a human in body any longer, he was still human in heart. really, errende is rather hesitant about killing travelers; if he can avoid conflict, he’ll gladly do so. that just wrong and goes against everything he has ever believed in.
but when he meets their eyes (lifeless, usually stuck in eternal fear) after being striked down something makes him want to puke and run away. errende acknowledges he sometimes has no choice but fighting back, but that doesn’t mean he enjoys it, at all…
because the guilt still weights on his shoulders, and those sins crawl on his back.
alternatively; errende has done things he’s not proud of, and such actions will follow him for eternity.
