PXT Message: Is there really a choice thesedays with mobile phones? Oh excuse me, I mean smart phones.

I am currently eligible for a free upgrade to a new handset. but you know who I feel sorry for? The hard working people at  nokia. For years they were the benchmark in mobile phones. There was once a time when changing face plates and playing  snake were the facejacking and facebooking of that generation. Now that generation has changed and nokia is the Hungry Jacks  of the phone world. Sure it does the same thing but you will get the shits afterwards.

21 months ago I found myself in a similar situation. Blackberry or iphone. After conducting what I thought was a thorough research it appeared the blackberry was the best phone ever and everyone I knew would soon have one. Besides myself  I knew only two other suckers who owned one. So lets recap, of the three known blackberrys in existence, one broke, one  was almost broken but sold on ebay for a tidy profit and the third is somehow still being used by its owner.

This time around I did not give other brands a look in, besides a quick glance at the stylish body of the samsung galaxy.

Like everyone else I will join the ranks of Apple and leave myself open to attacks from facebook predators and apps that really do not serve any real purpose other than filling in time.

My trusty sony ericsson with whom I have written this blog will soon be retired. I feel like Woody Allen- right down to the  country of origin of my new, younger partner.

Believe it or not, Sony once joined forces with Ericsson to form a superpower... The only way they will ever reign now is if Apple make a bad move and release the Appleberry smartphone.

Farewell old friend, may you enjoy your new home in a drawer with my other sony phone and my first ever mobile phone... a Bosch Phone.
